Wholesome Direct 2026 | Our Top Picks

One of my favourite showcases of the season, Wholesome Direct, continues to bring us more — of course — wholesome, cosy, and uplifting games for its seventh year.

With over 50 titles, including a couple of world premieres, cosy gamers everywhere will find something to scratch their itch. Be it a point-and-click adventure or vampire life sim (say what?), this year’s Wholesome Direct made it truly difficult to narrow down a top five.

But narrow it down I did, and here are my picks! Luckily I can add as many as I want to my Steam wishlist.

Dressmaker

Dressmaker is a cosy game inspired by real-life dressmaking. As an aspiring seamstress, this game looks so realistic that I want it so I can forgo IRL sewing classes.

Customers arrive with different requests and body shapes, and you’ll adjust mannequins to match their measurements before getting to work. The level of detail looks impressive, with the developers allowing you not only to pick different fabrics and patterns, but also haberdashery to decorate different dresses.

Coming to PC via Steam in September 2026, you best believe I wishlisted it immediately after Wholesome Direct kicked off so strongly with this trailer. I imagine I’ll be sewing dresses in no time.

Moonlight Peaks

If you think Moonlight Peaks is just another farming sim, you’re right. And wrong.

Moonlight Peaks is a supernatural life-sim where you experience life as a vampire in this cute, mystical town. A debut game by Little Chicken, players have to raise magical crops, cast spells, make potions — all the makings of classic cosiness. You can even fall in love and pull a Bella Swan with a werewolf, witch, or mermaid!

Mercifully, we don’t have to wait long for this bloody good game. It’s planned for release on July 8th — only a month away before we can sink our fangs into it! Wishlist it on Steam now.

In The Drift

What first caught my attention about In The Drift was its beautiful soundtrack, sung by Laryssa Okada (Manifold Garden, Dorfromantik). It perfectly complements the dreamy backdrop of this narrative adventure about fixing the internet in space. Even better, it’s coming from Daniel Fineberg, one of the co-creators of Sable.

You’re Luna the engineer, helping the people of the Belt maintain an internet connection because God forbid we can’t watch any game showcases. A puzzle-platformer lite adventure, it reminds me ever so slightly of Death Stranding, but far, far cosier.

There’s no information about a release date yet, but you can wishlist In The Drift on Steam while you wait.

Milki Delivery

Of course I’m going to include the next game from the developers of Minami Lane, Bliboop and Doot (or Doriane and Dorian — could they be any cuter?). It’s giving Kiki’s Delivery Service, but with milk and a bike.

In Milki Delivery, you’re a young bike courier and milkmaid Neha. In between delivering milk, looking after your pet cow Milki, and growing your business, you’ll slowly uncover the mystery of why the region lost all its cows and its formerly booming milk industry.

A demo is available on Steam now if you want to bump up your calcium intake. Milki Delivery is scheduled to release later this year (yay!).

Design & Conjure

Design & Conjure is a supernatural cosy cleaning game where you use magic to tidy, design, and solve puzzles! It’s also the debut game from our neighbours in Aotearoa, developer Tiny Kiwi Games, which I was pleasantly surprised to discover. Another great reason to add it to my list!

Dalia the Nature Witch has just come back from the Witch Academy and has to use her new skills to restore her hometown from a mysterious corruption. It’s giving Hozy meets magic, which is apparently all it takes to get my attention.

You can download the demo on Steam and wishlist the game now.
