The Future Games Show has wrapped up for another year, and it didn’t disappoint — delivering a stacked lineup of world premieres, surprise reveals and fresh gameplay from across the industry.
Hosted by Troy Baker, best known as Joel Miller in The Last of Us, and Alix Wilton Regan, who stars as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, this year’s presentation featured everything from ambitious indie projects to highly anticipated blockbuster titles.

And if the main show wasn’t enough, the post-show kept the announcements coming with even more trailers and reveals.
If you missed it, this is one worth catching up on — here are our top picks from the Future Games Show 2026.
Exodus
Exodus received an extended gameplay reveal during the Future Games Show, and it’s my absolute pick of the showcase. It’s in development by former devs who created Mass Effect 1 & 2, as well as Knights of the Old Republic (say no more).
Originally revealed at The Game Awards 2023, this game’s already got the goods — great looking combat and visuals, character customisation and NPC dynamics, an octopus in a mech, diverse planetary environments and… voice acting from Matthew McConaughey!?
There’s a 20 minute long, extended gameplay trailer available now — it’s looking exceptionally polished. Exodus is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 early next year.
The Lift
The Lift is a supernatural handyman simulator. The goal? Restore an abandoned, mysterious research facility. When it comes to world building, it’s seemingly highly interactive; the trailer highlighted a wide variety of ways you can manipulate objects and engage with the environment.
Puzzles and mechanics in this game look quite complex, but if the game eases you in, it could shape up to be a satisfying mystery adventure.
The Lift is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027. There’s a playtest launching on Steam in June.
My Cannibal Family
I love me some Rollercoaster Tycoon… But My Cannibal Family is something else.
My Cannibal Family is a co-op theme-park builder on the surface with a messed-up and horror filled twist. Players build up the park and lure guests in to meat meet their demise. Sadistically spectacular. This is for the kinds of people who forced droves of park guests onto an unfinished roller coaster in the tycoon games.
It’s is heading to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in 2027. If you’re keen to check it out, there’s a playtest available soon on Steam.
Don’t Fret
In Don’t Fret, you become a sentient guitar, trapped in a music school, where the teachers want you dead. The concept alone has sold me. A tragedy sees your consciousness transferred into the body of a guitar — except you have arms and legs and some adorable little red shoes. It looks to be a fun mix of horror, musical entities and puzzles.
Don’t Fret is coming October 1st to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. There’s also a demo out now which I rushed to download.
Arizona Sunshine
Despite the name, Arizona Sunshine has nothing to do with plumbing or tropical islands… It has always looked like the ultimate zombie experience but it was sadly locked behind a VR headset. Think of it like GTA-lite with Zombies.
Now Vertigo Games has announced a flatscreen remake, bringing it to traditional controllers for the first time.
Arizona Sunshine (flatscreen edition) is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC — oh, and you can play as the dog!
