Another year, another Resident Evil game announced at Summer Games Fest. This year, Capcom unveiled its elaborate remake of the 2000 classic, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, reimagining it for modern times.

This game sees Claire Redfield desperately searching for her brother, Chris, three months after the events in Raccoon City. Of course, you’ll stumble upon yet another viral outbreak, and you’ll have to survive against the horde while discovering more about Umbrella’s plans.

Mighty Cuphead Adventure

Studio MDHR has announced a new Cuphead game, moving away from their 2D hand-painted side scroller to a new 8-bit action platformer.

This one is still in development, and a release date is yet to be confirmed, but the developers are promising fast action gun play and up to four playable characters.

It’s been 12 years since the last Alien: Isolation game, and now, we’re finally getting a sequel. This one is set to take place on a colony world that’ll see us once again try to survive against a Xenomorph outbreak.

From the creator of Iko and Shadow of the Colossus, we got our first look at developer Fumito Ueda’s next sci-fi epic, and it’s looking to be equal parts emotional and grandiose.

Blood Message is an all-new action-adventure game set in East and Central Asia during the Tang dynasty. You play as a messenger caught in the chaos of the Shazhou uprising, trying to survive the conflict along with your son so that you can deliver a crucial message to the capital of the Empire.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are getting a new video game, and it’s one of the best stories to come out of the franchise ever.

The game is being developed by Platinum Games, the developers of Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta, so it should match the grittiness and eclectic action needed to adapt such a beloved story.

Yakuza studio RGG took to the stage to announce its next gritty single-player story epic, Stranger Than Heaven, a prequel to the Yakuza franchise that will follow the founders of the infamous Tojo Clan. The trailer also revealed that Snoop Dogg and Tupac will appear in the game, which tracks with the studio’s penchant for absurdity.

If you’re looking for a game to potentially ruin your friendship, then An Eggstremely Hard Game may just be it.

This one will see two players take on the role of ducks as you try to carry objects across different obstacles without breaking them, or killing your fellow companion.

Not to be mistaken with the Korean live-service FPS game, Crossfire is a new story-driven third-person shooter from veteran developers behind God of War, Call of Duty, and The Last of Us. While the game’s first impression is that of your bog-standard military shooter, it does come with a body horror twist to keep you hooked.

The devs have also promised the game will reinvent cover systems in third-person shooters, offering a more realistic depiction of a soldier hunkering down in their environment and moving around safely to take out targets during battle.

The game is set to star The Boys actress Claudia Doumit as one of two soldiers representing different sides of conflict, who need to work together to survive.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is not only one of the most revered games in the franchise, but it’s also one of the best pirate games to this day. This makes its imminent remake all the more exciting, improving on the game’s parkour systems and combat, while also adding new characters and quests to flesh out the experience.

It’s also releasing on July 9th, so you won’t have to wait much longer to dive in.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie is an upcoming extraction shooter that’ll see players operate giant walkers across sand dunes, battle rival players and loot goods to extract with.

The game is officially launching June 10th and looks like it’ll be a solid experience for gamers looking for another extraction shooter to slot into their library.

We’re only a few short months away from Control: Resonant’s release, so it’s no surprise that Remedy Entertainment is hitting nearly every showcase this past week to show off their game. Lucky for us, it’s a major show stealer, and continues to look like one of the most exciting releases coming this year.

ArenaNet is looking to reinvent MMOs, and they seem confident they’ll be able to with Guild Wars 3. The esteemed MMO developers are hoping to usher in the evolution of genre, and if there’s any studio that could do it, ArenaNet is a reliable studio to place your hope in.

Public beta has been confirmed to release fall 2027 (roughly September-November for us down under), so don’t expect to get your hands on this one any time soon.

We got our first extended look at Star Wars: Galactic Racer, setting up the game’s story and building our rivalry with the antagonistic Sebulba. But of course, we got to see even more Star Wars-inspired vehicles we’ll have the chance to ride, and crash in spectacular fashion, across several different race tracks.

A true successor to Star Wars Episode 1: Racer has long been desired, and it certainly is looking like we’re closer to getting it.

We got another look at Runescape: Dragonwilds during the Summer Game Fest, showing us the new crafting system and the wide variety of monsters we’ll be swinging at.

While the game has been out on PC for the better part of the year, it was announced at this year’s PlayStation State of Play that it’ll also be coming to the console in September.

From the co-creators of Assassin’s Creed comes a new, dark third-person action-adventure from Panache Digital. The game sees players take on the role of Noa, who can command witchcraft and spellcasting to take down supernatural enemies in a handcrafted Amsterdam.

Following its reveal, lead director Patrice Désilets would go on to announce that a 30-minute playable demo is now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, letting players dive in and get a feel for the game.

Quite possibly the most visceral trailer shown tonight, SAW: Genesis is a new multiplayer horror game set in the Saw universe that’ll have you and two other friends try to survive Jigsaw’s traps, while a fourth player controls the traps and tries to kill you.

It’s an interesting spin on the recent movie horror adaptations effectively reheating Dead by Daylight’s nachos, so here’s hoping this one lands well when it releases.

Lords of the Fallen 2 showed off new gameplay at Summer Games Fest, revealing some gorgeous setpieces amidst its grimdark setting. No release date has been confirmed as of yet, although it’s now available to wishlist on all gaming stores.

Blood of the Dawnwalker is going to the present day? A tease none of us expected! The latest game trailer highlighted a future moment with Coen, desperately awaiting a package for his survival as a threat emerges from his window.

Not only did we get our first look at gameplay for EA’s Star Wars: Zero Company, we also saw an appearance by the not-quite-Jedi Master himself, Anakin Skywalker. Star Wars: Zero Company is launching on August 27th.

Innersloth has revealed that the Among Us series is setting itself up for a revival, unveiling an all-new game and an animated TV series coming to Paramount+ soon.

The first DLC for 007 First Light is coming later this year. It’ll see Bond returning to Aleph to aid The Pirate King Bawma (played by Lenny Kravitz). We’ll be on the lookout for more on this one.

The remake of the first ever Gothic gake is out today, and showed off a new launch trailer at Summer Games Fest to let players know what it’s about.

Aion is a new MMORPG from the South Korean company NCSoft, which also owns ArenaNet, which also announced their upcoming MMO earlier in the showcase.

Much like their last title Throne and Liberty, this one is looking like it’ll be a more action-oriented MMORPG, trading skills for real-time action combat. You’ll also be able to turn into your mount by the looks of it.

Monster Hunter: Wilds is set to receive its first major expansion with Ascendence, which will see us taking to the skies to fight off new monsters and soak in some truly breathtaking environments.

Despite the game having record-breaking sales, it has struggled to keep fans sticking around like its predecessor, Monster Hunter: World, whose Iceborne DLC made this entry among the best in the entire franchise. Here’s hoping Capcom can strike gold again and give us some much-needed quality-of-life changes this time around.

It isn’t a Summer Games Fest without at least one Souls-like, and this one is shaping up to be a pretty interesting take on the series.

Sword of Legends takes place in a strange world drawn from classical Chinese literature, where gods, mortals, and wandering souls walk the same earth. So, naturally, we get to fight them with a big sword and summon them in battle to help us out.

No release date has been confirmed for this one yet, although I’d hedge my bets on a late 2027 release.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush showed off a new trailer at Summer Games Fest, revealing its open-world driving gameplay through a city made of toys, including the classic Hot Wheels orange ramps. This one looks like a lot of fun, and like it’ll be pretty nostalgic for those who grew up with the toy brand.

Clutch is an all-new open world racing game set in Monaco, in development by a studio made up of Forza Horizon veterans, Maverick Games. It’s giving us Need for Speed: Underground vibes, with a strong focus on storytelling between these fast-paced, deadly races.

No specific release date has been announced just yet, but we can expect this sometime in Spring 2027 (around March to May)

If you’re itching for more bloody medieval strategy games, than Chronicles: Medieval is looking like it’ll scratch that itch. The trailer for this one showed off some full-scale battle gameplay, showing off hundreds of units going at it in all-out warfare, letting you command massive armies to victory.

NetEase is diving into the pirate world and has shown off a trailer for their new colourful seafaring game, which will see players set sail and join the fight between two warring pirate factions.

After taking the internet by storm in early access, Palworld is officially getting a 1.0 release on July 10. The trailer itself showed off an intense battle with a mythical Pal and foreshadowed that we’ll discover the world’s secrets.

Hitman: World of Assassination revealed that our next elusive target would be none other than Wiz Khalifa himself, who will be flexing his muay thai skills in a tense cagefight.

After eight long years, The Wolf Among Us is finally getting a sequel coming in 2027. Even better, we’re also getting a remaster of the original Wolf Among Us game later this year.

The Stellar Blade series is about to enter its next chapter with Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, and will star the new protagonist Eve. In the trailer, we learn Earth has been abandoned, with the remaining survivors fleeing to a colony in outer space. We also see some pretty gnarly body horror amongst the enemies we’ll be facing,

Street Fighter 6 is celebrating its fourth year, and it’s bringing three original characters, Yasmine, Arjun, and Bosch, to the game. But, most importantly, Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7 will also be making her Street Fighter debut, and will apparently introduce materia as an all-new gameplay mechanic.

To close out the show, lead director of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy Naoki Hamaguchi took to the stage with Matt Mercer to announce the long-anticipated final entry in the series, Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

The trailer showed us iconic scenes from the final third of the beloved PS1 classic, remade for today. We also got our first look at new playable characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind, and how the two can synergise for some flashy combos.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer to play it, as Square Enix is sticking to its usual cadence and plans to release it sometime next year, between March and May.

And that was the Summer Games Fest 2026! Honestly, there were some really great games shown off here. Aside from some major technical difficulties throughout the show, the games shown off here make this year’s showcase a solid success.

There are still several video game showcases expected for the next week, including Frosty Games Fest tomorrow, and Xbox Games showcase on Monday, so be sure to check back in with Quest Daily for the latest updates on game announcements and rundowns.
