Women-Led Games 2026 | Our Top Picks

The Women-Led Games Showcase is back for its third year, bigger than ever and packed with awe-inspiring feminine energy. Hosted this year by none other than Briana White (Aerith, Final Fantasy VII Remake), the showcase shines a spotlight on innovative games developed by women-led teams from all around the world.

Regardless of genre, there’s something for everyone in this huge 75-minute showcase with over 60 trailers. From gorgeous visual novels, stylistic and story-rich RPGs, creepy horror mysteries and, on my personal bingo list, cosy horse games — there’s plenty to be excited about!

Here are our favourites from the Women-Led Showcase.

Every Wednesday

In a chronically online world, I often daydream about meeting new people the old-fashioned way, in third places. Where many games feature a café as the primary backdrop, Every Wednesday, however, caught my attention because its third place is none other than a cosy laundromat.

In this 2.5D interactive visual novel, you follow Hideki’s adventure in a new city. As he gets his laundry done at Yamada Laundry, Hideki gets to know the charming strangers in town, learning to appreciate small, everyday moments with them. Those who enjoy dialogue-driven, slice of life games like inKonbini: One Store Many Stories, or Coffee Talk should check this one out!

Every Wednesday is coming to Steam in February 2027.

Horses of Hoofprint Bay

Horse lovers, unite! It’s a glorious day as the Women-Led Games Showcase had not one but two horse trailers. One of these was Horses of Hoofprint Bay, a 2D point-and-click management game featuring beautiful, hand-drawn art. The premise is simple: you spend your savings on a run-down stable and build it up to be the stable of your dreams by caring for, breeding and training horses for competitions.

While Horses of Hoofprint Bay shows plenty of depth in gameplay with its detailed UI and interactions, it also gives the impression that it isn’t a tedious experience, which is what I am most excited about — you can even hire staff to help you out. I’ll be adding this one to my collection right next to The Ranch of Rivershine.

There is no planned release date yet for Horses of Hoofprint Bay, but a demo is out on Steam now. Players can also sign up for the playtest.

Letter Lost

Stepping away from the cosy vibes for a second, Letter Lost takes the anxious voice in our head that asks, “What could go wrong when starting a new job?” and cranks it right up to a terrifying, “What if I was trapped at work and forced to do my job forever?”

Letter Lost is a horror puzzle mystery with escape room vibes. You start a new job at a post office. Alone. The monotony of stamping, sorting and delivering mail is almost peaceful, until you start to realise something is very wrong about the office and that you should get out of there as soon as possible. If you can. Something tells me a resignation letter won’t be accepted at this workplace.

If you enjoy dark mysteries, this one’s for you. Letter Lost is coming to Steam on June 11th, but the demo is also out right now.

Toada Brava

As someone who enjoys Saturday morning cartoon aesthetics, fighting in revolutions and monkeys in general, Toada Brava instantly caught my eye. Its 2D, hand-drawn cartoon-style was one of the most beautifully presented games in the showcase today. Additionally, with its creative influences from Latin American culture and classic games, such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy and Donkey Kong Country, it looks to be an entertaining time.

In Toada Brava, you play as Kako, a young monkey on a mission to escape the Santacrúz Dungeon and rescue his mother. Along the way, he bands together with misfits to overthrow the corrupted Duke of Santacrúz and free his stolen land for good. The turn-based RPG features active time battle combat and timing mechanics, blending it with quirky moves like playing instruments to use music-based magic in combat.

A demo for Toada Brava is out now with a release coming to Steam in the future.

Taste of Heaven

I’ve acquired a taste for cooking RPGs, and to my delight, Taste of Heaven is that and so much more. Inspired by the whimsical world of Spirited Away, Taste of Heaven is a 2D cooking RPG with a dash of roguelite, set in a fantastical, cosmic realm where gods, spirits and other creatures co-exist.

Taste of Heaven boasts a seamless recipe system, using ingredients in creative ways to satisfy waves of customers with different tastes. Apart from cooking, you can also gather resources to build your hotel, discover the many mysterious secrets of the realm, and even romance some lonely souls.

After being in development for the last few years, Taste of Heaven has a demo out and is releasing in early 2027 on Steam.
