September is dominated by AAA games, with some of the years biggest titles soon set to release. Daywalking Vampires, Demon Slaying Samurai, Angry Short Kings… Plus sequels to some of the best games in modern times. This month has it all.
Here are our most anticipated games releasing in September 2026:
The Blood of Dawnwalker
Vampires, monsters, lovers, and witchcraft; The Blood of Dawnwalker takes vampire RPGs to the next level. You play as Coen, a young man turned blood-sucker on a desperate quest to save his family.
The game features a large open world, exciting traversal mechanics, an in-depth combat system, and heartfelt narrative. Think ‘The Witcher 3’, but you play as a newly sired vampire.
We’ve sunk our teeth into almost 50 hours of the game and it’s blown us away with its detailed world. Be sure to check out our full review below.
You can grab The Blood of Dawnwalker on September 3rd when it planewalks onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword
After a 20 year fast (!) Onimusha fans are finally eating again this month, with the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The Action Adventure follows Miyamoto Musashi, a demon slaying samurai, as he fights his way through the streets of Kyoto during the Edo-period.
Wielding a mystical Oni gauntlet and katana, Musashi can absorb the souls of defeated enemies to upgrade his own skills and summon other Oni weapons. Combat looks intense and flashy, with an emphasis on guarding and parrying to create openings to strike.
The new Onimusha game will cap off a stellar year for Capcom, who’ve been absolutely cooking with Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, and Monster Hunter Stories 3.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword releases onto consoles and PC on September 4th.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac Games’ take on Wolverine is clawing its way onto PlayStation 5 this month. It’s the most brutal and realistic Wolverine game ever; with fast paced combat, marvellous mutant moments, and an original story to save the mutant race.
From what we’ve already seen, Marvel’s Wolverine is shaping up to be another Insomniac hit. Logan is set to travel the globe, upgrade his skills and strike enemies down with his wit, short temper, and razor sharp claws. Aussie actor Liam McIntyre is taking on the role of Wolverine in this game, proving again that Australians make the best Canadian superheroes.
Get your yellow spandex ready, Marvel’s Wolverine is leaping onto PlayStation 5 on September 15th.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Tactical Role-Playing Game Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is centered around an arena tournament, the Heroic Games, that takes inspiration from the gladiatorial fights of ancient Rome. The main story of Fortune’s Weave is told through four different characters, and flavoured by the perspective of the hero you choose to embody. You’re also able to freely jump between protagonists to experience their points-of-view in parallel.
The classic grid based battles the series are known for make a return, with exciting new mechanics like ‘Blaze Art’ special attacks that cost HP to activate, and classes like the Charioteer and Flying Ornius Rider. Exploration and side activities have also received a major overhaul.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17th.

SILENT HILL: Townfall
SILENT HILL: Townfall breaks new ground for the series, being the first full-length SILENT HILL game made in the first-person point-of-view. The perspective shift designed to make the world feel closer, more dangerous, and tense.
In the action survival-horror, you play as Simon Ordell, unravelling a mystery in the Scottish town of St. Amelia. The island town is blanketed in thick fog, bringing an eerie feel to the stealth gameplay and frantic combat.
SILENT HILL: Townfall releases on September 24th for PlayStation 5 and PC…If you’re brave enough.
CONTROL Resonant
Remedy Entertainment’s CONTROL Resonant is dripping with Inception vibes, featuring combat and traversal that wouldn’t be out of place in an Insomniac Spider-Man game. In short, it looks dope as f**k.
A sequel to 2019’s CONTROL, the Action RPG puts you in… control of Jesse’s brother, Dylan as you explore a fever dream version of Manhattan. Finally free from confinement in the FBC, Dylan will need to unleash his extraordinary powers against a world-ending paranatural threat.
The game is much more expansive than its predecessor, with huge open areas full of supernatural nasties. With a shapeshifting weapon, and destructive elemental powers, Dylan is ready to kick ass!
CONTROL Resonant is due out on September 25th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
