PC Gaming Show 2026 | Our Top Picks

Calling all desk-jockeys and mouse and keyboard afficiscionados — the PC Gaming Show is live! For me, this show is where I get all my strategy, management, cosy game and RPG fixes. These are the games that keep me locked in my office for hours on end, toiling away at little people, little castles, little worlds.

From vampires and mushroom zombies to zoo tycoons and delivery services, here’s our top five picks from the show.

Stronghold 4

Stronghold has always been the gold standard for mediaeval castle building. Stronghold Crusader was recently re-released to very strong response. However, attempts to release new games in the franchise have aways had mixed receptions (I’m looking at you, Stronghold 2/3/Legends).

Stronghold 4 looks to be lifting more from the earliest games in the series, and updating the visuals. The perspective still looks like the classic wonderful isometric angle. The trailer showed off a range of castles from motte and baily to montaintop fortresses. There are even in-game events to spice up your castle life.

For me, the joy of Stronghold was always watching my little people go about their mediaeval life, all while building a terrifying killbox for oncoming sieges. Fingers crossed a new game in the franchise will capture some of that old-school castle building magic.

Stronghold 4 is coming to Steam later in 2026. In the meantime, check out our review of Stronghold Crusader Definitive Edition.

Vampire The Masquerade: Eternal Whispers

Get ready to sink your teeth into the darkened world of Vampire the Masquerade. A story driven CRPG set in the dingy world of modern vampires feels like a no-brainer, and Eternal Whispers looks to nail the vibe.

This should be a great one for fans of the Vampire: the Masquerade tabletop game. The trailer looks a little bit Baldur’s Gate, and a great deal of Disco Elysium. For anyone new to the world, think modern, dingy, social intrigue and manipulation with the overtones of a vampire aristocracy.

Blood will flow at some point in the near future — this one is coming soon to Steam.

Planet Zoo 2

In recent years, Frontier Developments have taken over the tycoon genre with the Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo and Jurassic World Evolution franchises. It’s no surprise that Planet Zoo 2 is cresting the horizon.

The latest trailer shown off at the PC Games Showcase shows awesome enclosure customisation, managing staff and visitors, aquariums and baby animals. Being able to get down and place every rock and toy for my chimpanzees to play on is where I lose my hours. It’s all looking very cute and very detailed.

Planet Zoo 2 is scheduled for release on 14th October, 2026 on Steam, Epic, Playstation and Xbox.

Signet City

It was only a month ago that I was playing Citizen Sleeper for the first time, and it’s lived rent-free in my head since. So I’m very excited to see a new game on the horizon from Jump Over The Age.

Signet City looks appropriately dystopian, with notes of The Last of Us in the mushroom zombies.

There isn’t a huge amount to show in the trailer, but the Steam page gives us a bit more. Surprisingly, you will play AS the mushroom infection, rather than the survivors. Guiding your hosts throughout the city and furthering their stories, as well as your own infectious designs. Whether you’re pro humanity or more of a fun-guy, it’s looking very stylish.

Signet City is coming soon to PC via Steam.

Into the Wind

Last up, Into the Wind was a surprise hit for me. This very stylised, cartoony game looks equal parts cosy and exploration. The trailer shows meeting friendly folks around town, delivering packages and having daring dogfights in the skies. I’m thinking Kiki’s Delivery Service with guns.

The art is wonderfully cartoony, the townsfolk seem like the friendly bunch you can spend days getting to know, and the motorbike/plane hybrid looks like a great way to hit the road/sky.

Into the Wind is coming to Steam Early Access soon.
