This year’s Women-Led Games Showcase brings well-deserved recognition to the hardworking women shaping the future of games — from studio leads to solo devs and every role in between. It’s a powerful reminder of what the industry gains when women are given the space to lead, create, and be heard.
From broom-powered solarpunk islands to mountaintop reckonings, tiny wooden worlds to haunted afterlives, the Women-Led Games Showcase delivered an unforgettable spread of stories, visual styles, and emotional sensations. So let’s dive in!
Quest Daily’s Top 5 Picks:
Crescent County
Witchcraft meets wind-in-your-hair freedom in Crescent County, a solarpunk racer from Electric Saint. You play as Lu, a delightfully chaotic young courier navigating a quarter-life crisis on a glowing, painterly island powered by “witch-tech”. Make deliveries by day, race by night, and build a new home among a found family of quirky outcasts.
Where most racing games feel like they were built in a garage with a wrench in one hand and a protein shake in the other; Crescent County looks to offer a breezy, stylish alternative.
Coming to Steam and Xbox Series X|S, Crescent County has a demo out now with the release date to be announced. So give it a spin and pop it on your wishlist!
WILL: Follow The Light
Set across the unforgiving northern latitudes, Will: Follow the Light from Tomorrowhead Studio is a narrative-driven walking sim that trades combat for atmosphere, exploration, and storytelling. With an emphasis on natural visual and vocal cues guiding your path without objective markers and yellow paint, it’s a quiet, immersive experience powered by curiosity and the desire to return home.
WILL: Follow The Light is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with a release date to be announced.

Cairn
In Cairn, developed by The Game Bakers, you play as Aava. A climber chasing an impossible summit, threading their way through windswept ledges, curious caverns, and forgotten relics of history etched into Mount Kami’s stone. Along the way, you’ll manage stamina levels, carefully place your gear, and connect with those you meet while on your journey.
While Cairn was originally unveiled in last year’s Summer Game Fest showcase, it’s finally set to come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam on November 6th. A new demo is available now.

Woodo
With the charm of handcrafted toys and the joy of playing with wooden blocks, Woodo from Tiny Monks Tales turns puzzle-solving into a cozy, nostalgic experience. Its wonderfully unique visual design embraces childlike play, and watching each diorama click into place is incredibly satisfying.
The release date is to be announced but it’s available to wishlist on Steam!

Prison of Husks
In Prison of Husks from Glass Head Dolls, you awaken as a fragile doll in a crumbling, hand-painted afterlife — fighting pigment-hoarding bosses and chasing the memory of a lost love. With fluid parries, pistols, and a highly customisable combat build system, this impressive solo-dev looks to be a heartbreakingly haunted souls-like with a deeply nostalgic feel.
While the Prison of Husks full release date is still to be announced, the demo is available now on Steam!

Women not just at the table, but running the show
This year’s showcase didn’t just spotlight great games, it spotlighted the women redefining what games can be. Not one of the titles featured is alike, and each brought something wholly unique, imaginative, and impactful to the table.
Representation behind the scenes matters. When female developers are empowered to tell their stories, the entire industry becomes richer, more inclusive, and infinitely more inspiring. My wishlist is weighing a lot heavier after this showcase!
