Happy New Year, gamers! The first month of 2024 is bringing the bangers, with the return of Prince of Perisa, Like a Dragon and Tekken!
Here’s our list of video games releasing in January.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Prince of Persia is returning to its 2D roots in this stylish new action-platformer set in a mythological world. Battle colossal creatures, parkour around a treacherous world, manipulate time and solve mysterious puzzles.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is launching onto PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC on January 18th.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered
The Last of Us Part II is getting the remaster treatment, and while some may think it’s too soon, there seems to be plenty of improvements made to the game.
It’s being tweaked to take full advantage of the PS5, with added DualSense features, accessibility options, behind-the-scenes content, a speed-run mode, and an exciting new roguelike mode ‘No Return’.
Players who own TLOU2 already can upgrade for $20 AUD. It’s available on the 19th for the PlayStation 5.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
The next entry in the long-running Like a Dragon/Yakuza series will feature both main characters Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga. In this turn-based RPG, explore the island of Hawaii and revel in the over-the-top drama.
With mini-games like ‘Crazy-Delivery‘ where you race around delivering food and performing wild stunts on your bicycle, a full-on dating sim ‘Miss Match‘ and even an Animal Crossing style area ‘Dondoko Island‘ to design and build. There’s almost TOO much on offer in this one!
Infinite Wealth is out on the 26th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Tekken 8
Tekken 8 will be packed with new and returning fighters, a whopping 32 at launch. There will also be 16 stages to battle it out on, featuring interactive and destructible elements.
There’s a demo available to play now. I had a quick look recently, and while there’s only a few characters available, I was impressed with what I played. The game looks stunning, easily the best Tekken has ever looked! There’s a new ‘Heat‘ combat system, and the story mode is shaping up to be fantastic.
Tekken 8 drops onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on January 26th.
Other games out this month:
- War Hospital – January 11th
- Momodora: Moonlit Farewell – January 11th
