Cute dog: Check. Banging soundtrack: Check. An emotional journey set against a bright colourful world: Check! A new trailer for Farewell North, an open world Indie game by solo developer Kyle Banks, was shown off at The Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2024.
Finally, our cosy dreams have come true; this game puts you in control of a gorgeous border collie! Set in the Scottish Highlands, colour has been zapped away from the world, leaving a dreary monochrome landscape. Like the good boy you are, it’s your job to restore colour and life across the game’s many foreboding islands.

Playing alongside your human companion, you solve mysteries and puzzles, herd animals and canoe your way around a chain of islands. With a unique story of overcoming loss and learning to say farewell, I think we better get our tissues ready!
I am a cosy gamer at heart and this lovely adventure, set in an atmospheric world, looks like my sort of game. Move over Stray (and cat lovers), it’s time for our collie hero (and all dog lovers) to have their time to shine. I know my doggo, Link, will love this one.
