We’ve now got a stack of fresh details on The Blood of the Dawnwalker, including a confirmed September release date, new gameplay footage and official PC specs. Here’s what you need to know.
The upcoming dark fantasy action RPG continues to look like one of 2026’s most intriguing releases, blending grim medieval settings, vampire powers and choice-driven storytelling.
Set in 14th century Europe during war and plague, players take control of Coen — a Dawnwalker who is no longer fully human, but not entirely vampire either (hi, Blade). He must fight to save his family from Brancis, the vampire lord ruling Vale Sangora in the Carpathian Mountains — all sounds pretty epic!
If the latest gameplay is anything to go by, it’s also giving off some serious The Witcher 3 energy — and that makes sense, with developer Rebel Wolves founded by former CD Projekt Red veterans who worked on the acclaimed RPG.

New gameplay unveiled for The Blood of the Dawnwalker
A newly released gameplay presentation showed more than 10 minutes of footage captured from the latest PC build, highlighting traversal, exploration and combat.
Coen, the game’s main character, can transform into a wolf to move through the world, while also using a range of powerful vampire abilities.
The new clip focused heavily on open-world systems, with exploration leading to hidden secrets, new powers and encounters that can change the direction of your journey.

Rebel Wolves says player decisions will directly influence the balance of power across Vale Sangora, reinforcing the idea that actions have big consequences.
A fresh story trailer also introduced several key characters Coen will meet along the way. Some will become allies, others enemies, but all are set to play an important role in the wider narrative.
Rebel Wolves also confirmed multiple editions, including a Collector’s Edition and Eclipse Edition with digital bonuses.
