Quest Daily is excited to exclusively reveal another shiny, new card from Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City, the upcoming expansion for Ravensburger’s hit trading card game.
The set introduces glimmers from Disney and Pixar films including Coco, alongside new characters and mechanics like Ink Drops.
And now, one of San Fransokyo’s notorious bot fighters is hitting the table.
Introducing: Yama — Notorious Criminal
Yama — Notorious Criminal brings one of San Fransokyo’s more memorable troublemakers into Disney Lorcana, and his ability is all about getting into a good old-fashioned scrap.
He’s also taking advantage of Lorcana’s latest mechanic: Ink Drops.
Yama — Notorious Criminal is a six (6) cost non-inkable card. He comes with four (4) Strength, four (4) Willpower and can quest for two (2) Lore.
His ability, Keep ’Em Coming, reads:
Whenever one of your characters challenges another character this turn, get 1 Ink drop. (You may remove an Ink drop to pay 1 Ink.)
Basically, Yama gives you a little bit of extra spending money whenever one of your characters challenges an opponent. So, if three of your characters start fights during your turn, Yama gives you three Ink drops that you can later use to help pay for other cards or abilities.
The artwork, illustrated by Ha Jung Song,, captures Yama in his element, sitting behind a table with a handful of Ink drops in front of him while holding one up like he’s trying to make a deal.

What are Ink Drops?
Ink drops are one of the new mechanics introduced in Lorcana’s Hyperia City. Think of them as little temporary bits of Ink that can be generated by certain card abilities. Unlike normal Ink, they don’t sit in your Inkwell — instead, you can remove an Ink drop to help pay for 1 Ink.
Yama is one of the card characters that can create them. His “Keep ’Em Coming” ability gives you an Ink drop whenever one of your characters challenges another character during your turn.
For example, if three of your characters challenge your opponent’s characters, Yama can give you three Ink drops. You can then cash those in to help pay for other cards or abilities. Neat-o!
Who is Yama?
Yama is a minor antagonist from Disney’s 2014 animated film Big Hero 6. He’s a criminal in San Fransokyo who runs underground bot-fighting competitions, where he uses his powerful robot, Little Yama, to take down the competition.
Yama crosses paths with Hiro early in the film, when the young robotics genius enters one of his illegal bot fights.
Hiro initially appears to have little chance against Little Yama, but his seemingly harmless robot, Megabot, has a few surprises up its sleeve… After Hiro’s robot is destroyed in the first round, he puts up more money for a rematch — and things don’t go quite as Yama expected.
Hiro’s robot ultimately defeats Little Yama, leaving Yama furious and prompting his memorable declaration:
“No one hustles Yama!”
A perfect fit for the card’s flavour textt.
Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City will be available at prerelease events from October 16th, before launching everywhere on October 23th.
