Sonic has a date! No, I’m not talking about a candle-lit dinner with Knuckles, though I’m sure there are plenty who ship that pairing. I’m talking about the release date for Sonic Superstars, the Blue Blurs’ next big outing.

It was all revealed, alongside a new gameplay trailer, at Gamescom Opening Night Live!
Sonic Superstars release date
Pour one out for your hedgehog homie, Sonic Superstars is set to release into the most packed month we have seen this year, October.
Sonic Superstars will release just three days before Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Wonder! Considering Mario will also be a 2D platformer focusing on 4 player co-op, it will really be in direct competition with Sonic.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Detective Pikachu Returns, Lords of the Fallen, Alan Wake 2 and Ghostrunner 2 are also set to release in October, so Sonic definitely has a battle for attention on its hands come October 17th.
Good news is, the game looks fun as hell – and the art style is just perfect.
Sonic Frontiers update
A free update for Sonic Frontiers was also announced for September 28th.
Bringing a new story, challenges, and a new playable character to the game.
