Rhythm Paradise Groove boogies onto Switch in 2026

Fans of the Rhythm Heaven series will be tapping their feet to know that this morning’s Nintendo Direct revealed a new installment — Rhythm Paradise Groove! It looks like in some regions it’s called Rhythm Heaven Groove… potentially due to IP issues? Who knows, who cares — the game is back!

For the uninitiated, Rhythm Heaven is a delightfully weird rhythm game with super wacky minigames, bizarre characters, and catchy tunes. It’s very Bishi Bashi themed (an arcade favourite of mine). After nearly a decade since its predecessor Rhythm Heaven Megamix graced the 3DS, it’s nice to see the series making a return on the Switch.

Rhythm Heaven was a blast solo player. I’m anticipating Rhythm Paradise Groove to cater more to local multiplayer for some guaranteed button-mashing. Hopefully we see it in early 2026.
