Five years have passed since Fortnite first introduced its map creator.
Since 2018, over one million islands have been created and over 40% of total player time is spent in this mode.
Now, it’s getting a major facelift, with the current toolset to be succeeded by Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
UEFN will put the power of Unreal Engine 5 into the hands of creators, allowing for more freedom when creating islands for the half a billion strong player base to experience.
With advanced toolkits and more grunt than ever, creators will be manufacturing more in-depth and immersive worlds the likes of which Fortnite has never seen.
Fornite is also upping its monetisation cut for creators.
With Creator Economy 2.0 being launched, a new 40% revenue split is fantastic news for those putting in the time and effort to create new experiences for other players.
We love to see it.
