Epic Games has wowed audiences at the Game Developers Conference, with their latest ‘State of Unreal presentation.

If you have a spare 7 and a half hours you can watch the whole thing HERE.
If not, catch all the highlights below.

We got an absolute BANGER of a sizzle reel for Unreal Engine 5. Packed full of highlights from video games, TV shows and Animations, all utilizing UE5 for their cutting edge graphics.

If this doesn’t get your heart fluttering with excitement you’re probably dead, Yo…

South Korea’s NCSOFT unveiled Project M, a hard-boiled action adventure with interactive elements that change the story as you play.

With incredible visuals, the game almost looks more like a John Woo action flick that an actual game!

Let’s hope they workshop that name a little.

We got to see more from Lords of the Fallen, an upcoming dark-fantasy action-RPG with phenomenal graphics.

The video showcases an intricate character creator, real time lighting with Unreal’s Lumen GI and an impressive mechanic that will have you traveling between the realms of the living and the dead in real time.

With fast flowing combat, seamless co-op and a huge fantasy world to explore, I’ll be keeping a look out for this one later this year.

A new Fortnite creative suite was launched into public beta, giving creators more creative freedom and a larger revenue share!

We saw a tease of how Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, is utilising MetaHuman Animator tech to capture facial animations and performances in real time – It’s just insane how good this looks! I’m exciting to see how this translates over into actual in-game cut-scenes and gameplay.

Thanks to IGN for the clip

Hellblade actor Melina Juergens, helped showcase the MetaHuman Animator technology on stage.

The tech allows for real time facial animations to be captured with little more than an iPhone! Those animations are then applied to a facial rig and the finished character animation is ready in mere minutes.

It’s incredible how quick and easy they make this look, and the end result is pretty amazing, considering it was done live on stage.

Honey I shrunk the alien! Pre-alpha footage was shown off for Infinitesimals, a third-person action adventure game where you play as an itty bitty alien exploring a gigantic, unknown planet.

Yay to gorgeous graphics. Nay to giant spiders!

Every year I’m stunned by how far Epic Games can push video game graphics and with a bunch of amazing new tech shown off this year, it’s hard not to get excited for the future of Unreal Engine 5 and beyond.
