Step right up, geeks! It’s time to get out and touch some grass. DreamHack is returning to Melbourne’s Olympic Park from April 26th to the 28th and is set to have its biggest year yet.
Dreamhack Melbourne is the country’s largest esports event, playing host to an army of gamers, creators and artistic talent.

This year, there’s double the number of artists in attendance, triple the amount of tabletop gaming space, Learn 2 Play, an international cosplay competition, and the return of the beloved BYOC LAN! There is something for everyone at DreamHack 2024.
Is there Cosplay at Dreamhack?

Cosplayers, get ready to dress to impress. DreamHack Melbourne will have cosplayers compete for a share of a cool AUD 30,000 prize pool, spread across two competitions.
For the first time in the southern hemisphere, DreamHack will introduce the Extreme Cosplay Gathering Australian qualifier. This qualifier will determine Australia’s representatives for the finals in Paris.
Contestants will be judged not only on their costumes but also on their skits, adding an extra layer of creativity to the competition. In addition, a catwalk competition focusing on craftsmanship will also be held.

Cosplay royalty will be in attendance with international cosplayer Kinpatsu, and local talents Soylent, Emerald L King, and Vera Chimera. From what I have seen, the wealth of knowledge and experience these creators bring is truly outstanding, ensuring the contestants are in expert hands.
Is the artist alley returning to Dreamhack Melbourne?

DreamHack’s Artist Alley will appear again this year and it’s bigger than ever before. After the overwhelming success of the inaugural event, it’s back for its second year.
Gaming is more than just playing video games – it’s an art form in itself. Celebrating the artistic side of gaming is always incredibly well received by the gaming community and it’s lovely to see a platform for creative talents to showcase and sell their beautiful works to the public.
What esports events are on at Dreamhack?

From creators to esports champions, the soul of DreamHack lies in its live gaming events.
Attendees can look forward to the League of Legends Circuit Oceania (LCO) Split 1 2024 Grand Final, 3 days of the ESL Challenger, and speedrunning with AusSpeedRuns. And if that’s not enough, why not participate in the BYOC part of the festival? It’s giving OG DreamHack vibes and we love to see it.

Festival passes are now available with purchasable add-ons for those who wish to attend Row F at the ESL Challenger, Trash Taste, or secure a seat at the Holo Live.
