The View Hotel has officially opened reservations for their high-end gaming suite just outside of Melbourne’s CBD.
The week of PAX, Quest Daily was offered to come and be the first to try it out — if only gamers knew about this one sooner!

It’s about 3km from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Which is about a 10-minute tram trip (or 15-minute e-scooter run).

Why a gaming suite in a hotel? I hear you ask. ‘Surely they could just play at home!’.
There’s a few reasons why you’d stay in a gaming hotel:
- You’re a travelling streamer. The suite has a fully kitted-out Elgato set up, with microphone, stream deck, webcam and light.
- You’re looking for an escape with your partner or mates.
- You might be looking to play the latest in PC gaming but don’t have a powerful enough rig! (You’re able to download your own games here).
There’s also plenty of space for a party. And with four Nintendo Switch pro controllers, in addition to Joy-Cons, you’re pretty much being invited to throw one.

The MSI PC setup can comfortably run all the latest games, with many pre-installed: Starfield, Mortal Kombat 1, and some Aussie indies like Cult of the Lamb, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical and Untitled Goose Game.
The venue says they’ll be looking to add more great Aussie titles to their “menu” in the future.

Running an internet speed test, the PC peaked at 827Mbps. That is VERY fast, especially by Australian standards. You can essentially download any game on arrival and have it in minutes.
The hotel encourages visitors to request a game if there’s something you’re really keen on that’s not on the list.

The mini-bar selection includes all your stock standard treats with the edition of a Red Bull fridge (at $6.50 a pop) and FREE popcorn.
Opening the curtains doesn’t offer much of a view but let’s face it — gamers aren’t letting the light in.

There’s two restaurants, including bars, on site. One of them is more fine dining focussed, but you could enjoy a casual dinner in the Hop Garden.
While the gaming suite is very cool, it’s not something you’d expect from a hotel like The View. From the outside, it’s seemingly all business… But once you step in the room and light light show begins, you forget about all of that.
Bookings start from $300 a night, which isn’t too bad — pretty standard for a Melbourne hotel these days. You can find out more here.
Quest Daily was invited to stay at The View Hotel as a guest.
