Video games releasing in March 2025

It’s March, and all eyes are on Split Fiction and Assassin’s Creed Shadows this month — for very different reasons. Will Shadows be the hit that Ubisoft need to stay afloat after a string of flops? Will Split Fiction be good enough to claim another ‘Game of the Year’ award for Hazelight at the TGAs this year? Only time will tell.

Here are our most anticipated games releasing in March 2025:

Two Point Museum

Two Point Studios’ latest entry sees players take on the role of curator and build the museum of their dreams. In addition to designing and building museums, players will journey across the globe in search of new artifacts and attract wild and quirky visitors to their exhibitions.

We recently reviewed the sim-builder and dubbed it one of the best in its genre, taking the Two Point franchise to the next level.

Two Point Museum is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 5th.

Split Fiction

From Hazelight Studios, the creators of It Take Two and No Way Out, comes the next big co-op adventure: Split Fiction. You and your gaming partner take control of Zoe and Mio — two very passionate storytellers — as they’re dragged through their consciousness and forced to experience their tales together. Zoe has a knack for writing fantasy, while Mio prefers a bit of science fiction, providing players with a variety of worlds to explore.

Following up on 2021’s ‘Game of the Year’ is a mega ask, but we look forward to sharing more about this eagerly awaited title in our review come March 5th.

Split Fiction is launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 7th — it’s also Steam Deck verified.

Fragpunk

Lock, load, and pick a card, any card. FragPunk is the latest free-to-play 5v5 hero shooter to hit the market. What makes this one special is the wild and whacky shard cards that can change the course of battle.

You might crack a card that enlarges enemy heads so you can pop headshots easier, or one that gives you a super jump to outmaneuver your foes; one card can resurrect you as a zombie after you die, while another equips you with a turtle shell that protects you from being shot in the back! There are even cards that change the map itself, like calling in thick fog to reduce visibility or a snowstorm that allows you to slide on the ice. With over 100 cards in the game there looks to be a tonne of variety and chaos to each match.

FragPunk releases on the 7th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Wanderstop

At first glance, Wanderstop is a cosy tea shop management sim, but there are dark themes brewing below the surface. Alta, who runs the tea shop, is plagued by insecurities, and believes her worth lies only in fighting in the arena.

Planting, harvesting, brewing, and serving tea is all in a day’s work at the tea shop. By listening to the stories of the weary travellers who stop by for a cuppa, you’ll learn how to make the perfect infusion for each customer.

Wanderstop launches on the 12th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

After multiple delays, Assassin’s Creed is finally making the leap into Feudal Japan. In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you play as either Yasuke, a heavy duty Samuari warrior, or Naoe, a stealthy shinobi learning the secrets of the Creed. Dual protagonists is one thing, but being able to swap between them as you please is another experience entirely! Developers Ubisoft had to build the entire world around catering for two very distinct play styles.

We previewed Shadows in January and it’s safe to say it’s shaping up to be an exciting and memorable entry into the beloved series.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 20th.

The First Berserker: Khazan

In The First Berserker: Khazan, you play the titular hero Khazan, on a quest for revenge. The action-packed soulslike is exciting and punishing, with tough enemies and savage bosses. When I played the beta last year I was getting my butt kicked a LOT, until I realised that the game has more of a focus on blocking and parrying, rather than a ‘roll away from danger’ playstyle.

The world design and art style make you feel like you’re within a brutal graphic novel; slaying giant apes, phantoms and lizard people. The 3D environments are designed with verticality and exploration in mind, and there’s an impressive voice cast to boot.

The First Berserker: Khazan launches on the 28th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
