Preview | Letters to Arralla: ‘Going postal, turnip edition’

Letters to Arralla is an Aussie-made mail-delivery sim set on the fictional Arralla Isle off the coast of Victoria. The demo dropped during Steam Next Fest and also made an appearance at Frosty Games Fest — clearly, this turnip’s going places.

Vegetable friends.

Yes, you are a literal turnip. A juicy one. With an ass. You land on Arralla to take up your week-long postie duties (that’s “mail carrier” for anyone outside Australia). And look, it’s not just about shoving letters in mailboxes. You’re part of the Deliberry service, which involves deciphering vague doodles on envelopes and, uh, reading people’s mail to solve their problems. For investigative purposes, obviously. (Is it illegal? Sure. But it’s also a game. Chill.) A strawberry named Nick Garcia did confront me for doing this — rude — but otherwise, the locals are chill with a nosy turnip solving their emotional baggage one envelope at a time.

Told you it was juicy.

Turns out delivering mail on an island full of talking vegetables is trickier than you’d think. Luckily, Arralla isn’t in a rush. There’s no timer, no deadlines; just you, a bag of letters, and a wholesome, weird little world to explore. Little Pink Clouds has created a slice of Aussie life that somehow feels both familiar and fruit-scented.

Bin chickens!

The demo gives you a generous bite of the island, from coastal beaches and backyard bins (with proud bin chickens lurking nearby) to a spa in the mountains. I even spotted native flowers that looked extremely recognisable, but don’t ask me their names. Botany is not part of the job description.

There’s no full release date yet, but if you’re into relaxing delivery sims with Aussie charm and vegetable puns aplenty, Letters to Arralla is worth jumping on Steam for.
