PlayStation has held its biggest games showcase in over 620 days, with a focus on first and third-party and titles coming to the PlayStation 5 and PS VR2.
Gamers were treated to dozens of new video game titles, as well as a few updates.
We saw four first-party PlayStation Studios titles, five PS VR2 titles are on their way, including old classic Beat Saber, and a tonne of third-party gold.
PlayStation Studio’s Jim Ryan also unveiled a new ‘remote play’ handheld device codenamed ‘Project Q’.
The handheld features a screen with DualSense controllers attached to the sides, very Nintendo Switch-like. Though Project Q won’t run games itself, it’s designed specifically to sync with gamers’ PlayStation 5 consoles and stream games over WIFI to be played remotely. It’s expected to launch later this year.
They also showed off their first crack at wireless earbuds, featuring lossless audio on PS5 and PC.
But the biggest reveal was about 10 and a half minutes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay.

Showcasing a darker side to the friendly neighbourhood webslinger, the sequel to Insomniac Game’s hugely successful Spider-Man, stole the show.
The game looks to be expanding its map, opening up the bridge to Queens and allowing players to explore so much more of Spidey’s home.

Kraven the Hunter is out to get Spider-Man and all of his friends (and seemingly enemies) with the help from the other Spider-Man, Miles Morales.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to the PlayStation 5 exclusively in “Fall 2023”, so we can expect it somewhere between September and December.
Other PlayStation first-party titles revealed include Fairgames, an upcoming heist shooter by Haven Studios. A cinematic trailer was shown off for the game with a QR code that directs gamers to a website to register for updates.
Marathon is a new game on the way from developer Bungie, a sci-fi multiplayer shooter. No release date for this just yet, but we’ll have to keep an eye out.

Bungie also showed off an incoming update for Destiny 2 named The Final Shape. More details will be revealed in a Destiny-focused showcase in August.
PlayStation’s Firewalk Studios also revealed their new game; Concord. In a cinematic teaser trailer, we can make out the game is set in space, featuring guns and space burgers. What the game is actually about is anyone’s guess!
Concord is set to release on PlayStation 5 and PC next year.
On the third-party front, leading the pack we have a gameplay reveal for Assasin’s Creed Mirage, Alan Wake 2, Phantom Blade 0, and the widely rumoured MGS3 remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
