With over two million copies sold in the first few days, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is proving to be a hit. Naval combat, a brilliant story and stunning world to dive into — it’s not exactly puzzling to see why.
What is a little puzzling though are some of the Mayan Stelae tasks, many of which required a little hunting and patience.

I’ve done the hard yards so you can reap the rewards. Collecting every Mayan Stelae gives you one of the best trinkets and armour sets in the entire game.
Here’s how to find and solve all 16 Mayan Stelae is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced:
Great Inagua
The first one you’ll find organically when you arrive at Great Inagua, your home base.
After following James Kidd across the island, you’ll come across your first Mayan Stelae puzzle.
Cape Bonavista
This next one takes you way back the the start of the game. Make your way through Cape Bonavista to the puzzle zone (you can see the puzzle locations on your map).
Climb up to the top of the tall Mayan totem to begin, and spin the circles around so they look like the below.
Cat Island
On Cat Island, you’ll find a larger Mayan puzzle than the previous two. Use the palm tree and rocks on the sand to line this one up.
Tulum
In Tulum — the assassins headquarters — head up the stairs on the south side and follow the path towards the totem. Turn and resize the circles so they fit the pylons like so:
There’s also a chest in the ruins next to this puzzle that contains 500 gold. Score!
Matanzas
Matanzas not only features one hungry croc, it also has a simple Mayan Stelae for you to solve. Use the three rocks and the tree to solve this one.

Misteriosa
This location contains two Mayan Stelae, the first one is located up ruins along the beach. Align the three circles with the large rocks below.
The second puzzle is located on the other side of the island, over the wall. This one was a little fiddly to get the size right, but once you align all the stones you’ll have your next Mayan Stelae.
Santanillas
A pivotal narrative point unfolds at this island, which is also flourishing with deer, flamingos and other wildlife. Line the three circles up with the pillars at the centre of the island.
Isla Providencia
There are two Mayan Stelae on Isla Providencia. If you’re exploring this area for the first time, mind out for the black jaguar!
Puzzle map location: 476, 16
The next is atop a set of ruins on the north side of the island, surrounded by soldiers.
New Bone
New Bone features one Mayan Stelae for you to find, lining up a stone path with pillars and a rock.

Pinos Isle
Interesting name, Pinos Isle.
There’s two Mayan Stelae to find on Pinos Isle. Pinos Isle contains one of the largest Mayan ruins in the game, aside from Tulum.
Puzzle map location: 311, 454
They may look intimidating, but these ones weren’t too difficult to trigger.

Sacrifice Island
If you’ve managed to get them all thus far, you’re so close to the end.
On Sacrifice Island, you can access this one by climbing the trees and following the route to the cliff ledge; the start of the tree run is located near the Jaguar marker on the island.

Long Bay
Here we go! Long Bay features the final Mayan Stelae, which can be found right next to the entrance to the Observatory.
Puzzle map location: 502, 216.

What do you get for collecting all Mayan Stelae?
The final reward for the Mayan Stelae is well worth the journey.
After Edward Kenway collects all the Stelae, head to the sealed Mayan temple door on Tulum. Make your way through the unexplored ruins to find an armour set and trinket.
The Mayan Outfit description reads: According to legend, this outfit was created using scavenged First Civilization materials.
The Yax Tun Trinket
The Yax Tun legendary trinket is one of the best in the game, offering immunity to bullets. Yep, no bullet can harm you now.
The description reads: All gunshots are mysteriously absorbed.
