PAX Australia – October 7 Blog

Footy Bash is an arcade-style Aussie rules game and the debut title from three-person Melbourne dev team Broken Thumbs.

It strips the sport down to its simplest elements – marking, kicking, handballing – in a manner reminiscent of NBA Jam or NFL Blitz.

Oh, did I forget to mention you can also beat your opponents to a pulp? There’s certainly no concussion rule for this game.

It’s currently planned for release next year and for a deeper dive, keep an eye on Quest Daily for an extended preview later this weekend.

There’s still a heap of interesting panels on today.

PAX isn’t just about the new releases. The Classic Gaming section is full of retro games from decades ago.

Depending on your age, this might be your first time laying eyes on a Commodore 64 or Atari 2600 in the flesh.

It’s also filled with pinball bangers like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or AC/DC, so if you have a craving to set some high scores, make sure to stop by.
