Guide: How to unlock every Big Walk tower

If you’re wondering how to unlock the towers in Big Walk, you’ve come to the right place (we’re a little bit obsessed with this game here at Quest Daily). There are five towers scattered across the island, and each one unlocks a new feature or fast-travel option to help you explore the world.

To unlock each tower, you’ll need to find a set number of coloured prizes, use them to free a key, and then complete the key-cutting puzzle. The Black Tower is the exception, requiring you to complete the other four towers first.

In Big Walk, there are five towers to unlock:

Here’s how to unlock every Big Walk tower, what each one does, and what you’ll get for completing them.

The cone.

The cone-shaped Red Tower is the easiest to unlock, purely because it’s the closest to your home base. Like the other towers, you’ll need to collect five red prizes — the gourd-shaped things you get from solving puzzles — to unlock the key at the top.

The blue doorway.

Once the key is free, you’ll find a series of little key-cutting pillars that point you towards the next location. Follow them to get your key cut. Once the key is complete, head through the large blue hall near your home base to unlock the tower’s reward.

The map room.

Inside, you’ll find a huge 3D map of the island, as well as a regular 2D map. The latter is an absolute godsend when you’re trying to plan your next Big Walk adventure. The room also gives you some useful tools for your travels, including flashlights, laser pointers, and a compass.

The most tower-shaped tower on the island.

The Blue Tower is one of the most useful towers to unlock, as it opens up the island’s train network. The trains provide a scenic tour of the island and drop you off near each of the towers, making getting around significantly easier.

The train station.

We’ve put together a full guide on how to unlock the train, but the process is the same as unlocking the other towers: collect the five blue prizes, free the key, and get it cut.

The rounded, chalice shaped Green Tower.

The chalice-shaped Green Tower unlocks the island’s chairlift network, giving you another way to travel around Big Walk. Once you’ve collected the five green prizes and completed the key, you’ll be able to access the chairlifts and travel through the air.

There are five chairlift stops in total, taking you from one end of the island to the other. They’re not only useful for getting around, but also give you some lovely views of the island. They’re particularly nice around sunrise and sunset.

The curvy Yellow Tower.

If you’ve spotted those strange, coloured, drain-like openings around the island, the Yellow Tower will finally explain what they’re for.

One of the tunnel entrances.

Completing the Yellow Tower gives you access to the island’s underground tunnels. These create another handy network between different parts of the island, including routes towards the other towers.

There’s just one problem: they’re really dark. Thankfully, a flashlight is conveniently placed at the entrance of each tunnel, so you won’t have to stumble around in the darkness for long.

The Black Tower.

The Black Tower is a rectangular obelisk near the Yellow Tower, with a round window at the top. Unlike the other towers, the Black Tower can only be unlocked after you’ve completed the other four. The process is largely the same, but there’s one key difference: the Black Tower requires six prizes instead of five.

This key is special!

Once you’ve got it, head to the large green wall across the north of the island. The key will unlock the door, revealing a large black sphere behind it.

Ominous. Or a giant olive.

That’s the final destination of the key – and your final destination in Big Walk.

Big Walk is available now on PC via Steam, Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.
