This week Xbox held another showcase, this time focusing on all things indie.
The ID@Xbox showcase has was a bit of a mixed bag in terms of quality. One game in particular seems to just be a straight rip-off of a well known multiplayer hit. But hopefully there’s something in there that tickles your fancy!

Sea of Stars
Sea of Stars is a prequel of sorts, set long before the events of action platformer, The Messenger. However Sea of Stars will be a fully fledged RPG.
It looks stunning.
The game follows the Children of the Solstice, who wield the powers of the sun and moon, in their quest to defeat the dreaded Fleshmancer.
With gorgeous pixel art and animation, six playable characters, dynamic day/night cycles, sailing, cooking, fishing and more… I can’t wait to get stuck in to this gem of a game.
Sea of Stars has a demo available to try and will release on August 29th.
Hellboy Web of Wyrd
Hellboy Web of Wyrd is and action-brawler-roguelite from the developers of West of Dead.
Jump into the (very large) shoes of Hellboy and punch, dodge, and blast your way to uncovering the secrets of ‘The Butterfly House‘.
Hellboy Web of Wyrd features an original story created together with Dark Horse Comics and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. Not only that, but the art style is very reminiscent of the comics; developers Upstream Arcade, have really brought the hero to life off the page.
There’s no set release date yet, we’ll keep you updated.
MythForce
Mythforce is a new medieval fantasy roguelike with a retro, Saturday-morning cartoon aesthetic. The art style is reminiscent of 80s cartoons like ThunderCats and He-Man & Masters Of The Universe.
Choose a hero and crawl some dungeons, either solo or with up to three others.
With an 80s synth soundtrack and deliciously cheesy dialogue, this first-person melee-roguelike is looking like a pretty unique experience.
Mythforce is set to release on September 12th.
Stumble Guys
It’s giving strong ‘We have Fall Guys at home’ vibes.
The name, the music, the animation style, and ofcourse the game-show style gameplay looks to be stolen HEAVILY influenced by 2020 indie hit, Fall Guys.
There does seem to be some more original game modes like a NERF blaster shooter and a Mario Kart style racing level, but seriously just go play Fall Guys instead, it’s free and looks much better than this bargain bin knock-off.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
We’ve seen bits and pieces from this game for a while now, set in the horror-filled world of the 1970s classic.
Play as Leatherface and his cannibalistic family, or try to escape as one of his victims in this third-person, 3 vs. 4 team-based multiplayer experience. While the art style isn’t blowing me away, the gameplay looks bloody brutal.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is coming on August 18th.

I don’t know about you, but Sea of Stars is looking like a must play for me.
