Awaysis, Dungeon-Brawling With Buddies

Sure, animals are cute and all, but give that critter a sword and a Medieval armour and you have my attention. Awaysis (not to be confused with British rock band Oasis) is a new party-based action-RPG from Japanese indie developers 17-Bit (Song in the Smoke).

The multiplayer dungeon-brawler is set within an enchanting world full of anthropomorphic animals, swinging over-sized slabs of sharp metal at the forces of evil. There’s a focus on physics-based action, particularly in combat, the ability to just send a monster flying off a cliff and out of your way is very appealing.

The game also features a soundtrack from the legendary Nintendo composer Hirokazu ‘Chip’ Tanaka himself. Tanaka, who pioneered chiptune music, has a storied career, working on the likes of Metroid, Tetris, EarthBound, and Super Mario Land! So your ears are in good hands.

Awaysis looks like a fun time with your mates. Explore dungeons, uncover enchanted loot, and slay minions to your hearts content. The game doesn’t have a date yet but it’s set to come to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Steam. Go wishlist it to show your support.
