But back to games releasing THIS month… We have Doom: The Dark Ages and Elden Ring Nightreign for big tentpole AAA releases, with a slew of cool indies filling out the month, too.
Here are our most anticipated games releasing in May 2025:
AFL 26
Just a week out from release, Big Ant Studios have dropped the very first trailer for AFL 26… Talk about cutting it fine! New to the series is Player Career Mode, where you take control of a draftee on their journey to premiership glory. There will also be full AFL and AFLW lineups, Coach mode, and Pro Team mode. Let’s hope AFL 26 can deliver on it’s promises this time, after the poor launch of the AFL 23 back in 2023.
AFL 26 kicks off on the 8th of May for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and PC.

Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade
Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is a stylish new action roguelite adventure, with a fantastical Japanese setting and isometric point of view. Battle through swarms of demons and bullet-hell bosses, to defeat the nine-tailed fox and restore balance to the world of humans and demons alike. There are three different characters to play as, each with their own unique fighting style and storyline to experience.
Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade launches onto PC and consoles on the 15th of May.
Doom: The Dark Ages
Doom: The Dark Ages throws players into a brutal, medieval-inspired world where the Doom Slayer swoops in on a high-tech dragon to explore crumbling castles and demon-infested battlefields.
It’s still the same fast, chaotic carnage fans love, but with a gritty, old-world twist. We got to preview it last month and it’s left us keep to see more!
Players can expect relentless action, a big focus on parrying attacks, some seriously creative weapons, and that signature heavy metal energy, when Doom: The Dark Ages launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 15th. It will also be available as part of Xbox Game Pass.

Deliver At All Costs
Deliver At All Costs puts you in the courier driver’s seat, and unleashes you upon 1950s America to wreak havoc and destruction. The action-packed delivery game has you hauling bizarre cargo like flailing marlins and atom bombs on the brink of explosion! With absurd physics, destructible environments, and a mysterious three-act story, it looks like one hell of a fun time!
Deliver At All Costs pulls up on the 23rd of May for PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
to a T
From the creator of the weird and wonderful Katamari Damacy comes yet another quirky title, to a T. The narrative adventure follows a teenager just trying to get through life, while their body is stuck in a ‘T-pose’. It’s set to be an offbeat but heartwarming adventure, that centers around the themes of fitting in and self worth.
to a T will release on PC and Xbox consoles on May 29th.

Elden Ring Nightreign
Elden Ring: Nightreign is the surprise follow up to 2022’s game of the year, putting a new spin on the genre, with roguelike and battle royale elements. In each new play-session, points of interest and enemies are shuffled, and your squad starts from level one. You must survive across three days of intense battles, avoiding the ever-closing perimeter and growing stronger to take on fiercer enemies.
You can play solo offline, or as a squad of three online, picking from eight unique classes to adventure with; such as the Recluse, a witch who wields powerful magics, or Ironeye, an archer with Robin Hood-like aim. FromSoftware are really shaking up the souls formula with this one!
Elden Ring: Nightreign releases on May 30th for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and PC
