Ubisoft Forward 2023 | Everything announced

There were no real surprises at Ubisoft Forward this year, but we got plenty of details for their upcoming blockbuster titles.

Star Wars Outlaws was the crown jewel of the showcase, while Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Assassin’s Creed Mirage got their time to shine.

Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars Outlaws has quickly become one of our most anticipated games here at Quest Daily, the worlds seem so vibrant and full of alien life and the action looks excellent! From shootouts to speeder chases, cut-throat negotiations to intense space battles.
What’s most exciting about this game, is we get to play as the loveable scoundrel, using wits and a blaster to scrape by, a nice change of pace from playing an all powerful Jedi.

Plus Nix, the little cute little alien companion, is pretty damn adorable!

Star Wars Outlaws will be coming to a galaxy near you in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, we return to where the saga began and experience the majesty and wonder of the world of Pandora, filled with all the stunning flora and wondrous fauna from the film.
There’s so much detail packed into each environment that makes it feel like a living, breathing ecosystem, brimming with colourful life.

In Frontiers, we will be exploring the ‘Western Frontier’ a place we haven’t been shown before so I’m sure there will be lots of new secrets to uncover.

The story is a bit of a worry here, it feels like they’ve just shoehorned in plot about Na’vi being trained in human weaponry, just to you can use guns later in the game.

The game will be a first-person open-world action-adventure (what a mouthful!) where you’ll traverse incredible alien landscapes, befriend other Na’vi clans and even get to tame your own flying beast, the banshee.
Zipping through the air, performing aerial stunts looks like an awesome way to explore Pandora, so too galloping around at high speed on a Direhorse.

You’ll have a host of weaponry, both Na’vi and human, to fight off the invading RDA (Resources Development Administration). I do worry the first person shooter aspect will feel forced and out of place compared to the exploration of the lush natural environments, though we’ll have to wait and see on that one.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is set to release on December 7th for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

More than 7 minutes of gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Mirage was showcased by Ubisoft, with a look at the story, game mechanics and combat, and most importantly – the refreshed and fluid parkour.

It’s a flashback to the original trilogy of AC games, before the huge open-world RPG entries.

When the first game was released back in 2007, I remember one of the marketing hooks was something like ‘grab anything that sticks out more than two inches’, which at the time was groundbreaking (I found this video from 15 years ago that highlights the work from the first game). Assassin’s Creed Mirage is shaping up to bring that feeling back, increasing the amount of abilities ten-fold.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 12 this year.

An Assassin’s Creed VR game was also revealed, Nexus is taking the elements from the games we all love and putting us directly in the action. You can read more about it here.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is coming to Metaquest later this year.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

We got a beautifully animated trailer for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, setting the tone for the game to come.
It’s been over 13 years since the last Prince of Persia game, and I doubt anyone predicted the next one we got would look anything like this!
The shift away from third-person is a welcome one however, harkening back to the 2D side-scroller roots of the 1989 original.
The gorgeous art style, deadly platforming and thrilling combat are speaking to me in a big way.

Battle colossal mythological creatures, parkour around a treacherous world, manipulate time and solve mysterious puzzles in this fast paced action-adventure platformer.

The combat looks super fast and brutal, the time manipulation abilities bringing a unique element (and strategy) to battle.
The Semi-open world has metroidvania elements, with new paths unlocking as you obtain new abilities.
And you’ll need sharp skills and even sharper timing to run the gauntlet of traps to uncover all the secrets the game has to offer.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is releasing on January 18th for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S Nintendo Switch and PC.
