The newest Chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), titled Gold Road, is out today on PC and Mac. This expansive and exciting update brings an array of new content, including 30 hours of main questline in the new zone of West Weald, an innovative Scribing system, and action-packed storyline introducing a new Daedric Prince.

New Zone: West Weald
Gold Road takes players to West Weald, an Imperial province not seen since The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The zone includes the city of Skingrad and offers players the chance to explore the Gold Road region and Dawnwood. This area is rich with new side quests, world bosses, public dungeons, and more.

Scribing System
One of the standout features of this update is the Scribing system, which allows players to craft and customise abilities using unique scripts. This new mechanic offers greater power, versatility, and roleplaying opportunities, making it a significant addition to the game’s skill customisation options.

Update 42: Improvements and New Achievements
Alongside Gold Road, Update 42 has also been released as a free update for all ESO players. This update brings several enhancements, including improvements to the in-game mail system, which now features better sorting, attachment previews, and inventory space display.

Additionally, a new Achievement, “Adventure Across a Decade,” celebrates ESO’s 10th anniversary by rewarding players with the “Fractured Glory” skin for completing questlines from some of ESO’s most memorable adventures, including the new Gold Road content.

New Content and Rewards
Gold Road introduces a wealth of new content, including 10 powerful item sets, three unique Mythic items, and fragments for the new Tales of Tribute patron deck. Players can also discover a new type of collectible called Skill Styles. There’s also a new 12 player group trial, Lucent Citadel, inviting players to explore a long-forgotten Daedric vault in Fargrave, featuring unique boss encounters and the mysterious Arcane Knot.

Availability and Editions
The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is now available on PC and Mac, with the Xbox and PlayStation versions set to release on June 18th. Players can choose from four different editions, starting at $59.95:
