Time to dust off those lonely PS VR2 headsets, gamers. PlayStation has announced a PC adapter for its $900 piece of VR hardware.
Launching in February last year, PlayStation’s highly anticipated second generation VR headset was a big ‘ol flop. While it offered great features, unfortunately the games just weren’t there.

Now, PlayStation has seemingly partnered with Steam to give their lonely hardware a new lease on life.

It’s a fantastic move and I personally can’t wait to use my PS VR2 on my PC, but it comes with an additional cost of $94.95 AUD.
Those looking to set up their PS VR2 on PC will also need a DisplayPort cable, compatible with DisplayPort 1.4. Looking around online, Amazon has these from around $15 – you’ll likely want one with a bit of length.
A new PlayStation VR app will also be need to be downloaded from Steam, along with Steam’s VR app.

The headset won’t work the same as if you were playing through the console, PlayStation says HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (other than rumble), aren’t compatible. But that’s not to say the PS VR2’s 4K display and 110° view won’t be welcomed.
