We’re one month on from the massive release of Monster Hunter Wilds, and Capcom has just held the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase for March. This look at the upcoming Title Updates and new content for the game has more inclusions than you can poke a greatsword at.
Sidebar — This update includes a few mentions of creatures and locations from the end of the Monster Hunter Wilds story. So, if you haven’t finished yet or want to remain spoiler-free, read at your own peril.
You can watch the full showcase below, and read my thoughts below that. Title update 1 is scheduled for 1st April — so you don’t have long to wait!

The Gathering Hub
A returning feature from previous Monster Hunter titles is the Gathering Hub, this time called the Grand Hub. In Monster Hunter Wilds this will be a part of the Suja map and town, which you unlock at the tail end of the story.
The full video shows that the Grand Hub is a much larger multiplayer town space than the initial towns in Monster Hunter Wilds. The Gathering Hub in previous games has always been a larger area where players can get together before a hunt, play some minigames and hang out with their hunting party.
A few features shown in the new Grand Hub include a new barrel-rolling minigame, hunting party feasts and drinking, a singing diva for ambience and the ever im-paw-tant Palico chefs to keep you topped up on good grub.
The first Seasonal Event will also take place in the new Grand Hub — the Festival of Accord: Bloomdance, which, as the name implies, will be the spring festival in Monster Hunter Wilds.

New (and returning) monsters

Coming in the first title update, we have returning water leviathan Mizutsune. Mizutsune is known for its floating bubble attacks that drift across the area. Modern console hardware technology is on full display in the trailer, where Mizutsune’s bubbles can now collide and combine into larger bubbles. We even see a blue flame attack that ignites these bubbles, like the Apex Mizutsune from Monster Hunter Rise.

There are also two returning and revised monsters, including a high-rank version of the Zoh Shia fight at the end of the campaign. This spectacle was only ever completed once as part of the story, without any weapons or armour tailored to Zoh Shia itself. Thankfully, in the trailer, we get a glimpse at the otherworldly black-and-white outfits that come with the final boss update.
There’s also an update on the next challenge level of the Apex monsters from Monster Hunter Wilds. The first coming is Arch-tempered Rey Dau. This revised Rey Dau fight will include a new armour set, and in the vein of previous Arch-tempered monsters, we can expect this fight to be harder, with more health, damage, and new moves.
Lastly, as a tease for Title Update 2 (coming sometime in Northern Summer, Winter for us) – we see a glimpse of a clawed foot and a roar that can only be fan-favourite Lagiacrus.
Quest Daily writer Tom Greer is an avid Lagiacrus fan.

New Activities and Events
Along with the above updates, Arena quests are making a return. These isolated quests will take place in the Arena and are unlocked towards the end of the story. In previous games, these quests have included one-off quests against numerous monsters and modified larger or smaller monsters. These happen on a rotating cycle to keep players tied into an ever-changing cycle of hunts.
For serious hunters, there are also global leaderboards for completing Arena hunts with particular weapon load-outs, complete with special rewards.
Lastly, there is a plethora of new cosmetics, emotes and an incoming Capcom crossover event.
Check out the full roadmap below, and keep an eye out for more as the season of Monster Hunter Wilds rolls onwards!
