A New Take on Mobility and Synergy
Canyon Vaulter is a flavourful and exciting addition for decks focusing on Vehicles or Mounts. With an aggressive power stat of 3 for just 2 mana, this card fits well in strategies that value tempo and mobility. Its unique ability to grant flying to the Mount or Vehicle it interacts with can break board stalls, dodge blockers, and close games quickly.
What we like:
- Flexibility Across Archetypes: Whether you’re piloting a Vehicle-heavy deck or experimenting with the Mount mechanic, Canyon Vaulter opens up unique play lines.
- Evasion On-Demand: Granting flying to a Vehicle or Mount makes it much harder for your opponent to chump block or trade favourably.
Potential Weaknesses:
- Fragile Body: With only 1 toughness, Canyon Vaulter is vulnerable to even the smallest pings of damage, such as Shock or Goblin Chainwhirler.
- Timing Dependency: The flying effect is tied to main-phase actions, meaning it doesn’t provide instant-speed utility.
The Artwork
Aetherdrift is pitched by Wizards of the Coast as a multiversal Grand Prix. The red Skycycle and Canyon Vaulter absolutely pop off the card. It perfectly captures the daring Kor Pilot mid-race, piloting their Skycycle confidently through the canyons.

The stunning art for Canyon Vaulter is brought to life by David Astruga. You can check out more of his art here.
