Sanrio’s spin on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Hello Kitty: Island Adventure, will be freed from Apple Arcade’s hold in early 2025 through a timed console exclusive on the Nintendo Switch, as announced in Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct.

This is the news I’ve been waiting for ever since the game was announced as an Apple Arcade exclusive back in 2023. It made me consider using my Apple Arcade free trial – which is still untouched because I have Disney Dreamlight Valley to tide me over.
Sanrio fans can expect to see their favourite characters including Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and more as they try to restore the island for Kuromi. Players can look forward to customising their characters, cooking, fishing, crafting, and collecting on Friendship Island.

There seems to be a lot more adventuring available on Island Adventure to set it apart from other cosy sims, with the trailer showing an Indiana Jones-esque boulder of death scene and Hello Kitty as a mermaid in an underwater city!
