The Game Expo is calling on all cosplayers! In the expo hall, experienced cosplayers will be sharing their skills and advice on creating certain cosplay looks and assembling them. There will also be a cosplay contest running on Saturday with prizes up for grabs – so don your best look to snag a freebie or two!
If you’re worried about your craft being damaged on the way to the expo there is no need to panic as TGE offers changing rooms so you can protect your gear until you’re in the building among the action.
There is also a repair space run by Captain Patch-It and his team to help attendees with any cosplay malfunctions.
Come along Sunday for the cosplay parade to show off all your hard work and dedication. But make sure you double check with TGE’s guidelines on cosplays as some things aren’t always allowed in due to safety concerns. You can find them here.
If you like hearing from the industry experts, there are panels galore ready for you to take a seat and soak it all in.
The creative stage is gearing up to host awesome items such as a cosplay Q&A hosted by Gem, speedrunning 101, cosplay performances with awards and team OCE on building a community – and that’s just the Saturday!

Now it wouldn’t be a convention without the chaos of tabletop gaming – and the guest game of honour is an absolute classic… Chess.
Chess takes a front seat at this year’s expo and has multiple opportunities to pull up a chair to play, watch and learn from the greats. Both Saturday and Sunday offer opportunities to get in some chess playing time and if you fancy yourself a bit of a whiz at the game then why not throw your hat in the ring for the chess tournaments. There’s an open event on Saturday and an under-18s tournament on Sunday.
Like with most events in the same vein, there is also a bring your own computer space – so pack up your gear and grab a spot.
There are plenty of tournaments on offer for BYOC and to see what grabs your fancy you can check the website for event kick-off times.
