id Software has unveiled the next instalment in the iconic Doom franchise, DOOM: The Dark Ages. Set to launch in 2025, this prequel to the DOOM Slayer’s saga takes players back to a medieval war against Hell’s legions.

Witnessing the Slayer’s rise from a kingdom’s last hope to Hell’s greatest fear, this single-player action FPS plunges players into the origin story of the DOOM Slayer’s fury. Players will face new enemies and reimagined classic foes from DOOM’s bestiary. Equipped with medieval-inspired weaponry, the Doom Slayer wields a shield with sawblades and a very badass flail.

Players also look to be commanding colossal machines. Such as the Atlan, a gargantuan mech designed to topple Hell’s behemoths. We’ll also be able to soar the skies aboard the Slayer’s Mecha Dragon, equipped with jet engines and overwhelming firepower.

DOOM: The Dark Ages arrives on Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 in 2025.
