With the Borderlands movie being an unmitigated disaster, fans were left a little disappointed (but not surprised) to say the least. However there is light on the horizon for the sirens and psychos of the world, with Borderlands 4 revealed this morning at GAMESCOM Opening Night Live.

The teaser for the new entry into the looter-shooter franchise doesn’t give away much, mainly that we can expect the game in 2025. But we also see the burning symbol of the firehawk, the moon Elpis crashing through a strange energy field, and a robot hand picking up an infamous psycho mask.
We got Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and New Tales from the Borderlands in 2022, but it’s been almost five years since the last mainline Borderlands game, so the timing is ripe. Let’s hope the team at Gearbox can once again reach the peaks of what Borderlands 2 was able to achieve.
