Huge week for the Battle Royale giants

There are some exciting things happening over in the Fortnite universe this week!

First and foremost, could our boy Miles Morales be swinging into action!?

Epic Games has been rather tight-lipped about the new addition, releasing a cryptic message on social media hinting at the spidey legend’s presence sometime soon.

Miles Morales would join Tom Holland’s Spiderman and Zendaya’s MK, Miles will be an awesome addition to the squad.

But that’s not all. Fortnite has launched an all-new Ranked system, expected to change the way we play.

Kicking off in Fortnite v24.40, Battle Royale and Zero Build will allow players to enable ‘Ranked’ play and begin reaching for titles Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite, Champion, and Unreal.

Here’s a look at how it works:

Once you turn ‘Ranked’ on in the lobby, you can see your current rank on the left of the screen.

A progress bar will indicate how far off you are from either the next rank-up or returning to the next one down. The progress bar moves forwards or backwards depending on certain factors such as your match placement and eliminations that you or your team managed (later match elims will count for more and the rank of players eliminated).

If you’re playing a solo ranked match in Battle Royale you’ll be matched against players with the same or similar rank but if you’re playing in duos or squads you’ll be classified as a party rank where you’ll be matched with the highest rank of your squad members.

There isn’t any difference in the gameplay of Ranked matches compared to normal Battle Royale, so there’s no need to feel the fear of missing out on anything.

Battle Royale offers ranked matches in solo, duos and squads whereas Zero Build only offers ranked for duos.

Lots to look forward to coming up in Fortnite. Happy playing!
