Back in Pink: Overwatch Mercy Skins for Breast Cancer Research

Mercy is back in pink, and she’s bringing a rosy new look to help fight breast cancer!

Blizzard Entertainment has reintroduced the Pink Mercy skin in Overwatch, originally launched in May 2018, to support breast cancer research. The skin, priced at $22 AUD, will be available from June 25th through July 8th, with 100% of proceeds (excluding platform fees and taxes) going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

Back in 2018, the Pink Mercy campaign raised an impressive $12.7 million USD, making it the largest single donation in BCRF’s history. This significant contribution helped fund groundbreaking research in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and metastasis. The initiative led to advancements in AI tools for mammogram imaging, predictive models for treatment responses, and the identification of potential drugs to delay tumour formation.

Blizzard is not only bringing back the beloved skin but is also spicing things up with a brand-new charity bundle—the Rose Gold Mercy bundle. Priced at $29.95 AUD this dazzling bundle includes the stunning Rose Gold hero skin, the Mercy Heroic Weapon Skin, and a set of three sprays, name cards, and player icons. Just like with Pink Mercy, all proceeds from this bundle will be donated to BCRF, turning your in-game style into real-world impact.

The new player icons have been designed by the talented community artists Angela Ziegler (@A2Ziegler) and Dani Ellis (@OWGrandma). (Blizzard)

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women globally. BCRF’s mission is to prevent and cure breast cancer by advancing the most promising research worldwide. The funds raised from the Pink Mercy skin played a crucial role in supporting BCRF’s Precision Prevention Initiative (PPI) and other key research breakthroughs.
