With Pokémon Legends Z-A right around the corner, The Pokémon Company has been showering us with brand-new Mega Evolutions which are set to debut in their upcoming title. While normal people in Reddit forums are asking boring things like, “What’s their base stat totals?” or “Which Mega should I choose for my team?” — I’ve been asking a far nobler, vastly more pressing question:
If each of these Mega Evolutions had a podcast, what would it be and why?
So here’s my take on the brand-new Megas: their podcast concepts, titles, and even some segment ideas (named after their moves, naturally).
Mega Raichu X & Mega Raichu Y
Podcast name: Current Affairs
Imagine if Linus Tech Tips was run by two excitable Gen Zs who can’t stop roasting each other throughout the episode. That’s the Raichu twins in a nutshell. One leans hardware, the other software, and together they basically short-circuit the tech scene. They would also regularly argue over which is better: Apple or Android.
Segments:
- Spark – Headlining weekly tech news.
- Volt Switch – Guest interviews with other “techy” Pokémon (Porygon-Z? Magnemite? The collabs write themselves).

Mega Dragonite
Podcast name: Wingspan
Dragonite has the energy of that one wholesome uncle who’s been everywhere, met everyone, and insists you must try this hole-in-the-wall coffee place in Lumiose City. It’s a travel podcast where every week brings a new story about the skies, seas, or some random tiny island only Wingulls usually visit.
Segments:
- Tailwind – Chats with other Flying-types in the skies (think Carpool Karaoke but in the clouds).
- Dragon Breath – First-hand travel stories, told with what I imagine to be Dragonite’s endearingly dorky charm. Just look at that adorable, squishy face and tell me he’s not dorky. You can’t.

Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox, & Mega Greninja
Podcast name: Super Effective Advice
Picture My Brother, My Brother and Me, but with one tank, one mage, and one ninja — all equally chaotic. Listeners send in their problems, and these three rip them apart with comedy and shenanigans to deliver… questionable advice. Would I trust them with my problems? Absolutely not. Would I binge multiple episodes in a single road trip? Absolutely.
Rather than segments, each Mega would bring a different personality to the table:
- Chesnaught: The practical, “dad energy” advice.
- Delphox: Wisdom laced with the smugness of someone who’s chronically online.
- Greninja: The shady, sassy takes that hit the ego hard.

Mega Malamar
Podcast: The Subliminal Hour
Imagine Frasier Crane, but instead of persuasive psychology, he just manipulates your subconscious through psychic powers. Malamar would have that deep, velvety radio voice too; the kind that makes you wonder if you’re being hypnotized. Spoiler alert: you probably are.
Segments:
- Hypnosis – A segment where listeners “accidentally” reveal too much under Malamar’s psychic prodding.
- Sleep Talk – Soothing ASMR that may or may not brainwash you into doing his bidding.

Mega Hawlucha
Podcast: Flying Press
Honestly, his signature move was too perfect not to use for a title. Think WWE commentary with plenty of locker-room tangents, psuedo-serious nutrition advice, and terrible Macho Man impressions you can’t stop laughing at.
Segments:
- Bulk Up – Eating for gains and bringing in nutritional experts to bust myths.
- Brick Break – Training regimens. Sometimes solid, sometimes bizarre, but they somehow work.

Mega Victreebel
Podcast: The Hungry Garden
Mega Victreebel ditches the gentle gardener act and instead runs a slightly sinister foodie podcast. Think Hot Ones meets Gardening Australia. It’s all about bizarre recipes, gardening tips and tricks, and occasionally interviewing Pokémon who… uh… don’t always make it to the credits. Don’t ask what happened to the last guest.
- Bullet Seed – Quick planting advice and what’s in season.
- Stockpile – Weird cooking hacks and pantry staples from the wild.
- Acid Spray – Cooking recipes that only Victreebel could really stomach.

Your Spotify Wrap
Sure, Mega Evolutions give us stronger Pokémon, new strategies, and amazing new shinnies to hunt, but more importantly they give us content. I’m living for the memes and cultural impact this game will have in the Pokémon community. Pokémon Legends Z-A releases for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16th.
