We are finally getting a new Star Fox game! Well… kinda.
This is a full remake of the Nintendo 64 classic Star Fox 64 — also known as Lylat Wars — rebuilt for Nintendo Switch 2. And it’s shaping up to be a proper nostalgia trip.
The Lylat System has been completely overhauled visually — from the vibrant world of Corneria to the polluted oceans of Zoness, and deep into space across asteroid fields and nebulae.
That said, the missions will still be very familiar.

Fox McCloud and the gang are jumping into Arwings, taking on intense space dogfights, pulling barrel rolls and boosting through waves of enemy fire.
Falco, Slippy and Peppy are all back — this time with updated designs, full voice acting, and new cutscenes between missions that flesh out the story and characters.

There’s also new game modes.
Campaign Mode lets you follow branching routes across the system, unlocking harder difficulties and different paths depending on how you play.

Challenge Mode adds extra objectives and replay twists not found in the main campaign.
And Battle Mode brings 4v4 multiplayer dogfights — with team-based objectives like zone control, energy crystal runs, and cargo recovery across iconic locations. Plus co-op-style support through GameShare.
Oh… and there’s mouse controls now too.
Star Fox lands on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25th this year.
