Review | Catto’s Post Office: ‘A mini meow-sterpiece’ (PC)

Catto’s Post Office is a brilliant little mail delivery game developed by Brisbane-based indie devs In Shambles Studio and published by CULT Games (Go-Go Town). It’s the perfect palate cleanser between heavier games, or a sweet wind down if you’re after something short, cute, and cosy.

Catto-ception.

As the name suggests you play as Catto, the town’s resident Postcat, dutifully delivering mail to your fellow resi-cats. It also happens to be your birthday… But no one seems to remember. A real meow-stery!

If I fits, I sits.

There’s plenty of feline fancies to indulge in while delivering parcels: batting at cat trees, knocking over flower pots, booting cans across the street, and of course meowing on command. Some deliveries require a bit of help or the completion of a side task, but nothing ever feels rushed. There are no timers and no stress; just you, your mailbag, and a cat-sized world to explore.

Neko-pan!

The only real downside to Catto’s Post Office is that there’s no save function. If you’re aiming for specific achievements, you’ll need to restart the game from scratch each time. Bit of a miaow-serable oversight.

That box looks strangely familiar. Are there even biscuits inside?

Catto’s Post Office is designed to be completed in about an hour — it took me 45 minutes, and I immediately jumped back in to clean up some achievements. The town itself is completely cat-safe, complete with only cat-friendly plants and flowers to boot! There are also some hidden rubber duckies (shaped like cats) scattered throughout, along with a couple of other little Easter eggs I won’t spoil.

The real life Cattos.

If you love cosy games and cats, you won’t be disappointed. I particularly loved the concept art gallery in the credits and the dedication to the devs’ real-life Cattos.

Catto’s Post Office is out today on PC via Steam and with a bargain 20% launch discount, it’s an easy recommendation.
