Video games releasing in February 2026

It might be the shortest month of the year, but February sure isn’t short on games! Dragon Quest VII Reimagined and Resident Evil Requiem bookend the month, with new Nioh, Mario Tennis, and Witcher games filling out the middle!

Here are our most anticipated games releasing in February 2026:

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined

Classic JRPG DRAGON QUEST VII gets reimagined, with the older style pixel-art adventure fully remade in an eye-catching diorama style. The game follows a young fisherman’s son and his friend the Prince, as they get caught up in a wild island-hopping, time-travelling adventure.

There’s also new quality of life features that bring gameplay up to more modern standards and reduce the level grind these old JRPGs were notorious for. There’s an auto-battle feature, the ability to speed up battle, and you can also defeat weaker enemies with a quick strike without getting into a turn-based battle in the first place. A demo is available now that lets you play through the first few hours of the game, and your progress will carry over should you choose to continue your journey!

DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined launches on February 6th for consoles and PC.

Nioh 3

Fan favourite demon-slaying simulator Nioh returns for its third installment. The Action RPG puts you in control of Tokugawa Takechiyo on his time-travelling, Yōkai-butt-kicking adventure.

Nioh 3 opens up in a big way compared to its predecessors, championing exploration in its move from linear missions to a more open design of interconnected maps, similar to something like Elden Ring. You’ll be armed with two distinct fighting styles, the Samurai, for taking enemies head-on, and the Ninja, which relies more on agility and ninja techniques. There’s also a new parrying mechanic that charges your Ki, and a jump for added mobility in combat and exploration.

Nioh 3 comes to PlayStation 5 and PC on February 6th. There’s also a demo out now on both platforms.

Mario Tennis Fever

Just in time to capitalise on the hype of the Australian Open, Mario Tennis Fever is set to step out onto court soon! Move over Alcaraz, Luigi is the new world number 1 in my eyes!

Boasting 38 playable characters from around the mushroom kingdom, as well as 30 “fever rackets”, a new mechanic that adds unique “fever shots” to your repertoire of slices, lobs and volleys. The rackets will have all sorts of effects like shrinking your opponents or freezing parts of the courts with slippery ice!

Mario Tennis Fever launches onto the Nintendo Switch 2 on February 12th. Let’s hope it’s a grand slam!

REANIMAL

Little Nightmares developers, Tarsier Studios, are back to scare your socks off with new horror IP REANIMAL. Sticking to the twistedly dark style they’re known for, the characters and grotesque enemies are almost puppetlike in appearance… Spine-chilling demon puppets that is.

The macabre adventure follows an orphaned brother and sister traversing an island full of unspeakable horrors, to rescue their lost friends. Fully playable in either single player or co-op, it might be best to bring a friend into this one as backup!

If you’re brave enough, you can pick up REANIMAL on February 14th, for consoles and PC. There’s also a demo out now.

Reigns: The Witcher

Reigns: The Witcher is a new game taking the White Wolf’s world and turning it into a swipe-based, decision-driven adventure. In a surprising collaboration, CD Projekt RED has teamed up with Reigns developers Nerial to bring the legendary Geralt of Rivia Witcher back to the gaming world.

In Reigns: The Witcher, you’re shaping Geralt’s latest adventure through the eyes of the legendary Dandelion. By swiping left and right through a series of card-based decisions, you’ll fight monsters, make trolls smile and seek golden pelts in some of the most ridiculous and smile inducing storytelling in Witcher history. Even the smallest quests become epic tales — and you get to decide how they unfold (so long as you play your cards right).

Reigns: The Witcher is slaying its way to mobile and PC on February 25th.

Resident Evil Requiem

It’s one of the most anticipated games of the year and its finally within our grasp — horror fans, this one’s for you. Resident Evil Requiem is introducing new character Grace Ashcroft to players, but also bringing back fan-favourite Racoon City police officer Leon Kennedy.

The game looks to feature two very different play styles; as Grace, players can expect to focus more on stealth and puzzles, while as Leon, you’ll wield chainsaws and boot stomp zombie heads into walls — fun! We went hands on with a demo of the game last year and it’s left a wonderful taste in our mouths. Could Resident Evil Requiem be a game of the year contender?

Resident Evil Requiem is creeping onto consoles and PC on February 27th.
