Two Point Museum’s 8.0 Update Isn’t Dinosaurs, And I’m Sad

Two Point Studios sure is working overtime, dropping an 8.0 update for Two Point Museum today. It was only three-ish months ago that I was sucked into their second paid DLC, Zooseum, which brought Two Pointers (hehe) a brand new museum, map, and live animals.

I hadn’t thought about the game in a while — until this teaser trailer was shared:

My mind instantly went: dinosaur! And I was totally here for it. But I was sadly disappointed.

When the update dropped on March 20th, we discovered the truth: Angry Birds.

Boy, was I an angry bird.

They even have merch in-game! (Supplied)

While I know that IP crossovers can be expensive, and Jurassic Park was probably out of the question, I can’t help thinking it would just be a much better fit for Zooseum. Breeding Velociraptors and tiny T-Rexes… I guess Dr Hammond and I had a shared dream.

In today’s games, IP crossovers are everywhere, popularised by crossover king Fortnite. While Epic’s likely not the first to have done it, they certainly dominated the game, with The Avengers, Simpsons — you name it, it’s likely in Fortnite. Then there’s the in-person crossovers like Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, and Sabrina Carpenter.

How convenient! No more schlepping to a far off museum. (Supplied)

I totally get that Angry Birds ties into the Zooseum theme… And I’m also keen to give it a whirl. The Angry Birds roam free around your museum, stopping the Bad Piggies and criminals in their tracks from stealing Egg Nests and your donations.

8.0 is Two Point Studios’ first major update for the game this year. Along with the Angry Birds crossover, it also includes a Spring Seasonal Event, a new Easter POI, plus 107 new updates (including outdoor toilets!). Most of the new additions were pulled from community feedback. It’s lovely to see how they’re listening to Two Point fans.

We’re only in the first quarter of 2026, so maybe (alive) dinosaurs are in the works? I’ve got my fingers crossed. What could go wrong?
