This morning I discovered one of my new most anticipated indies. The Guerilla Collective showcase highlighted the latest from The Axis Unseen, a “heavy metal horror” game set in a mythical and hellish open world.
This game has been created solely by Nate Purkeypile, the former lead designer at Bethesda Game Studios. Purkeypile worked on Fallout 76, Skyrim, Starfield — just to name a few.

Armed with a magical bow, this first-person shooter sets players on a path to stop hellish beasts from escaping back into your world. Players can unlock new abilities for their weapon, including elemental powers like fire and wind.
Visually, The Axis Unseen looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Shooting powerful arrows at mythical beasts and making them launch into the air? Incredible. Give me that.

The soundtrack is also an absolute bonus, with heavy metal artist Clifford Meyer (Isis, Red Sparowes) behind the chaos.
The Axis Unseen is coming to PC in October this year. You can wishlist it on Steam today.
