PlayStation Showcase | New titles coming to PS VR2

We’ve been waiting for some juicy news for PS VR2 since its launch back in February, when the only real heavy hitter was Horizon Call of the Mountain – but now that’s starting to change.

Finally, we have some new and exciting PS VR2 titles to look forward to.

Five new VR experiences are in the works, including an epic-looking sequel to the zombie sandbox game Arizona Sunshine, and a classic VR staple has already made a big return.

Let’s take a look at what’s coming soon to PS VR2.

The Games

Crossfire: Sierra Squad – Smilegate Entertainment

Described as an action-arcade FPS, Crossfire: Siera Squad sees players step into the boots of an elite fireteam soldier. It’s sounding pretty great, packed with 13 single-player campaign missions and a whopping 39 gun types. It’s shaping up to be an awesome PS VR2 experience.

Crossfire: Sierra Squad is coming to PS VR2 sooner than you’d think, it’s scheduled for “Summer” this year, so we can expect it in the next couple of months.

Synapse – NDreams

Synapse was first unveiled in February, featuring “brutal firepower and expressive one-to-one telekinesis”… whatever that means. It’s being developed by nDreams, the team behind Ubisoft and Zero Latency VR’s Far Cry experience.

Set in the subconscious realm, Synapse provides a fast-paced run-and-gun VR experience that sees you on a quest to stop an armageddon event, the key to salvation hidden inside the mind of a rogue marine.

Synapse is coming to PS VR2 on July 4.

Resident Evil 4 Remake VR – Capcom

We’ve known about this one for a little while now, and the wait is killing me.

The VR mode for hit remake Resident Evil 4, is coming as a free DLC, reminiscent of Resident Evil Village. Playing in VR will of course mean a perspective change, from third to first-person, which is almost enough to make it feel like a brand new game.
I cannot wait to step into the world of Resident Evil 4 in VR, I’m sure it’s going to be pretty creepy being attacked by those villagers up close!

There’s still no release date but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on this one.

Arizona Sunshine 2 – Vertigo Games

Arizona Sunshine released back in 2016 to rave reviews, setting the bar for VR shooters, and now it’s sequel, Arizona Sunshine 2 is shaping up to do the same.

Featuring a host of weapons, from shotguns to machetes and even flamethrowers and an all-new melee combat system that’ll have you getting up close and personal with your shambling foes.
Zombie slaying can be a lonely past-time, luckily there’s a new canine companion, who’ll help you take down those walking dead.

I can already see the viral TikTok trends, with gamers showing off their creative zombie kills and messed-up antics. (Yeah, I’m looking at you.)

Arizona Sunshine 2 is coming to PS VR2 later this year.

Beat Saber – Beat Games

Beat Saber is back!

The PS VR2 version of this classic VR game is available now, offering enhanced visuals and improved performance.

Queen lovers (as in the band Queen, not the late Queen Elisabeth II) will also be stoked to have a new music pack available, featuring 11 tracks from the Bohemian Rhapsody Hall of Famers.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2

When Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 was unveiled it wasn’t exactly clear this was going to be a VR title – so this one was a bonus once we read through the PS Blog.

Known for ditching the gore, its jump-scare gameplay is sure to up the ante on PS VR2.
It’s certainly the year of Five Nights at Freddy’s, with a movie on the way starring The Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 is coming exclusively to PS VR2 later this year.
