It’s taken the world by storm. Open-world survival game Palworld has smashed industry records, with an incredible 7 millions copies sold in just 5 days.
Now they’re scrambling to get their Pokémon-like video game up to scratch, despite being in early access.
They’re also battling intense scrutiny, with Pokémon fans producing detailed comparative pieces highlighting alleged copyright infringement. Though, Nintendo themselves are yet to comment.

In a statement posted online, developers Pocketpair admit sales have far exceeded their expectations.
“Sales have far exceeded the development team’s expectations, and we are currently experiencing many problems due to excessive access congestion, among other challenges,” they said.
“We will prioritize improving this issue first, and then move on to implementing new in-game features. Thank you for your understanding.”
An Early Access roadmap was also shared, giving us insight into what we can expect from the game in the future:

Addressing Critical Issues
- Currently, numerous bugs have been identified, and we are prioritizing fixing those.
- Sometimes, the world date may experience rollbacks.
- The loading screen may persist when trying to load into worlds…and so on.

- Improvements to base Pal AI and pathing.

Palworld is available now in early access on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
