Another stop-motion co-op game, Out of Words, was just announced at Summer Game Fest. If it looks eerily familiar, that’s probably because it’s giving strong It Takes Two vibes. Right down to the animation style. Geoff Keighley even wrapped the trailer with “What a really unique and different game,” which I think was sarcastic? Hard to say.
Crafted entirely by hand, Out of Words is a platformer that follows Kurt and Karla as they journey through the crumbling realm of Vokabulantis. Their goal: save the world and their friendship, ideally in that order.

It’s being developed by Kong Orange and Wired Fly, with Danish poet Morten Søndergaard lending his lyrical touch. You can play it solo (online co-op with cross-play) or in classic couch co-op. Always nice to see options for those of us without a regular Player Two.
Published by Epic Games, Out of Words is coming to PC via the Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. You can wishlist it now.
