Before we get into this, I thought I would introduce myself and share some fun facts: My name is Alex, and I am a serial doom-scrolling offender, and I get distracted easily. Why am I telling you this? Because I found a game that actually helps.
I’ve been playing On-Together Virtual Co-Working, an idle game developed by Gigapuff. As the title suggests, this is a virtual co-working experience that lets you quietly work, study, or simply get something done. It’s low-maintenance and surprisingly comforting in a way I didn’t expect.
It’s Time To Work
I’ll admit, I was hesitant at first. Any kind of community space or open chat room can feel a little daunting, especially when you don’t know what kind of experience you’re going to get. But that concern faded almost immediately. The first room I joined greeted me with a few warm welcomes, and then everyone simply… carried on.

Once I settled into a lobby, it was time to explore and find a nice spot to get some IRL work done. I stumbled across an outdoor library, which felt fitting for the tasks I was working on. Throughout the world, there’s subtle lo-fi music that you can turn off if needed, but when I entered the library, the music faded out completely, and all I could hear was birds chirping, which, for me, was simply perfection.

I love how flexible the game is on your display. You can play in fullscreen, dock it to the side of your screen, or use a transparent sticker mode where your avatar or group of avatars stays with you while you work. It’s ideal when working in different programs and gives you a sense of company without ever becoming a distraction. The game also features to-do lists, a journal for notes and a weekly planner. Having these organisational tools in one spot is fantastic.

Remote Together
In many ways, On Together feels like a natural extension of how work has evolved over the last few years. One of the few positive things to come out of COVID was the widespread ability to work from home. This game would have been an amazing companion during the peak of the pandemic, but it still feels incredibly relevant now. On Together helps bridge the gap of remote work or study by giving you the feeling of being part of a team, or even a small community without any of the social pressure. Even surrounded by strangers, there’s a shared sense of purpose that makes the experience feel genuinely comforting.

When you need a break, the game gently encourages you to step away from your task. You can explore the world, play small games like fishing or basketball, or send a friendly message in chat to spark a conversation. On Together rewards your focus time by being able to unlock pets and further customisation to your avatar.

An Idle Game That Just Works
Overall, On-Together Virtual Co-Working succeeds at making productivity fun and a little less lonely. I know personally, as someone who works from home or is at my desk for hours editing, that this will help me be productive. It’s cute, calming, and refreshingly pressure-free, a virtual co-working space that reminds you that even when you’re working alone, you don’t have to feel alone.
On-Together Virtual Co-Working is available now on PC via Steam.
