After launching on the Super Famicom waaaaaaay back in 1994, LIVE A LIVE was lovingly remade for the Nintendo Switch last year. Now, after almost 30 years of Nintendo exclusivity, the game will expand it’s horizons and release on PlayStation and Steam.
The directorial debut of the legendary Takashi Tokita (Chrono Trigger, Final Fanatsy IV), LIVE A LIVE follows seven separate storylines across multiple different time periods.
After playing Octopath Traveler, it’s clear that LIVE A LIVE was a big inspiration. And in turn, for the LIVE A LIVE remake, Octopath’s HD-2D art style was co-opted.
The turn-based RPG has been beloved for generations and the new blending of pixel art and 3D graphics, only elevates the games charm.
LIVE A LIVE releases on PS4, PS5 and Steam on April 27.
