September 6th launched Starfield for everyone around the world, not just for those with early access. It’s already become Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest launch ever as the game surpassed 6 million players at the time of release.

To celebrate the monumental occasion, Bethesda ANZ put together a cosmic event for both Aussie fans and media alike in Sydney — there was even surprise virtual appearance by the game’s creator!

Held at the Cargo Hall Overseas Passenger Terminal, guests were greeted with an array of brightly coloured Constellation-themed lights, gorgeous neons, and more as they walked towards multiple interactive experiences.
The venue was directly across from the Sydney Opera House so attendees could grab a Starfield themed photo-op with and iconic Aussie background.

Guests could build their own Starfield-themed spacecraft from a nifty flatpack (who knew being an aerospace engineer could be so simple?).
The ‘Room of a Thousand Planets’ was an infinity mirror room engulfing guests in hundreds of dangling lights creating a stunning interstellar experience. A secret peak-a-boo-styled wall shared glimpses of the game’s story and world. In the background of it all, tying it all together, was an eye-catching live art! The finished art actually featured in the take-home loot bags handed out towards the end of the event.
An arrangement of intergalactic cuisine was made available to guests as Bethesda teamed up with The Marshmallow Co. to make Starfield’s consumable brand ‘Chunks’ into a reality. Featuring flavours Grilled Chicken (which was actually toffee flavour), Red Cheesecake, and Constellation. There were also two food trucks with Starfield-inspired menus and an enthusiastic team of Domino’s employees with large stacks of pizza.
Attendees also received a special greeting from Todd Howard himself, with delighted guests vocally expressing their joy followed by thunderous applause. But perhaps my favourite part of the night was a cosplayer bringing our beloved ‘Adoring Fan’ to life for the night. Bringing so much positive energy to every interaction, and a wonderous gaze that had fans quite enchanted.

Bethesda ANZ has also teamed up with Game On Cancer® to raise funds for ground-breaking cancer research. A booth was held at the launch event displaying a stellar custom Starfield x Aftershock PC — the ultimate prize for the fundraiser. It was incredibly easy to lose yourself in the vastness of this Starfield event. I, personally, had a blast and I really think the team at Bethesda ANZ shot for the moon but landed in the stars!
May your first (or second) weekend with Starfield be as fun and out of this world.
