Over the weekend we got yet another massive showcase packed with exciting games. Future Games Show, hosted by voice acting royalty Yuri Lowenthal and Laura Bailey, gave us fresh looks at anticipated games like Lords of the Fallen, as well as brand new reveals for games like Resistor and The Precinct.
Here’s everything showcased.
Resistor
The super stylish, action-packed trailer for Resistor gave me massive Speed Racer vibes, and I’m so here for it.
This turbocharged, open-world RPG features break-neck death races and vehicular combat that’ll have you on the edge of your seat!
Customise both your racer and ride and unlock new car abilities to help you perform gravity-defying stunts.
With it’s bright and cheery visuals set against its dystopian world, Resistor has burst to the top of my watch list!
The CARPG will drift onto PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Lords of the Fallen
Dark fantasy action RPG, Lords of the Fallen might be just what the plague-doctor ordered to scratch that Souls-like itch.
If you die in the world of the living, you’ll rise again in the world of the dead with a final chance to fight your way back to life.
Your lantern allows you to travel across parallel worlds, unearth treasure, and even manipulate the souls of your enemies.
Brutal combat, grotesque enemies, colossal boss battles, a dark gothic world… It’s ticking all the boxes!
Lords of the Fallen releases on October 13th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Headbangers: Rhythm Royale
Headbangers: Rythm Royale had my attention when I saw a pigeon wearing a sombrero… But when I saw a pigeon dressed as Elvis, it had my respect.
Even though the trailer gives almost nothing away about how the game will actually play, I’m already in.
If you need a bit more to sway you, we have a few more details:
-
In this rhythm based battle-royale, you’ll compete against 29 other pigeons, in musical minigames to win the title of Master Headbanger!
-
There’ll be 23 unique minigames designed to test your memory, rhythm, reflexes, reaction time and rap ability!!!
-
Personalise your pigeon with hundreds of accessories, from deadlocks to dinosaurs, sharks to sumos, go out and win in style.
Headbangers will flap it’s way onto PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
En Garde!
Jump into the boots of hero Adalia de Volador for a swashbuckling adventure in, En Garde!
Parry, riposte and lunge your way to victory in this comedic action game that has you crossing swords with hapless guards while exchanging witty one-liners.
Use the environment to your advantage. Surprise, stun and evade your foes by dropping chandeliers, throwing musical instruments, even blasting them with cannons!
En Garde! duels it’s way to PC in August.
Ruffy and the Riverside
With it’s whimsical setting and Paper Mario-like art style, Ruffy and the Riverside charmed the pants off of me (not literally).
Turning a waterfall into climbable ivy is a cinch for Ruffy, who can copy and paste textures and radically change the game world! Use the swap ability to solve environmental puzzles in this open world action adventure.
You can even design your own textures in the game, get creative and paint the town red (or whatever colour/texture you feel like)!
Ruffy and the Riverside will roll out on PC and Switch.
The Precinct
The Precinct reminded me of the old school, top down GTA games… Well except that you’re a cop instead of a criminal.
A love letter to classic cop movies, you play as a rookie cop trying to clean the city of crime and corruption.
Part police sim, part sand-box action, the game boasts an open-world with procedurally-generated crime.
Patrol the streets by foot, squad car or helicopter, and tackle a wide range of felonies, from high-speed car chases to parking violations, bank heists to drug deals.
And you’re not on your own either, call for back-up in the form of squad cars, roadblocks and more.
The Precinct will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
But wait there’s more! Check out the rest of the games shown off at FGS.
